Music for Outdoor Ceremony

Leanne, on April 17, 2018 at 12:29 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about how to have some music for an outdoor wedding. We've been thinking about maybe an harpist, but we don't think $500 is worth what will probably be less than 35 minutes with only 25 people including my fiancé, myself, and our wedding party. Is there anyway to have music without setting up some type of speaker with just a phone (I'm afraid it will look kinda tacky) or anyway to do that with it being elegonant. It's a small wedding only including our families and close friends, but I still want it to be nice.

Find out if a local school orchestra has some good students to play for a small fee or donation to the school.

I went through this exact same dilemma for my wedding! We have 30 people, ceremony is outdoors and reception inside. I found that a guitar player was less expensive and would take the stress off of me having to find speakers, someone to control the playlist, etc. He is also going to DJ during dinner (we will not have dancing). Total spent was $740. Any string players - I looked at trios - were the same price for the ceremony alone.

ETA: Do some research! Are you working with a DOC? I had given up until my DOC recommended who I am using.

Are you having a DJ? Our DJ is doing our music for the ceremony and the reception, after we decided live music was not something we wanted to splurge on for the short amount of time it would be needed.

No, I wasn't planning on having a DJ because we're getting married in a park in New Orleans at the end of June. Theres not much wiggle room.
