Middle name instead of last name on invites website?

Allyssa, on February 12, 2018 at 5:14 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11
Hello all.

I go by Allyssa Rea, have for the past 11 years, my first and middle name, most people think my middle name is my last name. Only people I went to high school with know my “real” last name, none of which are invited. I don’t like my last name, and I’m not close with my father, so his opinion is pretty much irrelevant (not that he’d care most likely).

is it okay to use my middle name as my last on the invitations? After that day I’ll have a new last name anyways lol.

I think it's fine to do that on the invites, if that's how everyone knows you. It only matters on the marriage license, which obvi has to have your full, legal name.

I’m going by my first and middle! Ella Marie. By fiancé is using his first and middle as well on the invitations! I think it’s a great idea!

My last name isn't even on my invites. It has our parents listed with their last names but it says our first and middle names. It's something similar to this...

    Mr. and Mrs. Michael MyLastName

with Mr. and Mrs. Stephen FHLastName

request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their children

    Bride MiddleName

    Groom MiddleName

It's not uncommon for the bride to list first and middle name and groom first and last!

We didn’t use last names on the invitation. Everyone invited knew who Amy and Corey were. Totally fine.

I use my last name, but I still only have my first and middle of invites. I say absolutely!

Following. I don't really want my divorced name on my new wedding invitations, but no one knows my maiden name! Was thinking of doing the same thing.
