Manzanita branch FAIL - UPDATE - please help!

Katie, on May 14, 2013 at 5:21 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 18

Long story short:

I have 12 branches and 10 tables. I got them from an etsy seller (they are pictured at double the size) He said he would send me out filler branches to supplement...GREAT! I've sent him 2 messages asking if he shipped them out yet... a week with no reply i'm very nervous! My wedding is in a week! I even tried ordering other branches but shipping would take way too long. I would be very surprised to actually recieve them anymore.

I need to either supplement the single branch with something? but what?

Or I can do the 2 branches on only 6 of the tables... and do 4 with something different.. but WHAT would coordinate well with THESE?

I'm having a rustic barn wedding - colors are brown, yellow and blue, brown tablecloth with burlap runner. sunflowers for the flowers.

plan is clear blue jar filled with rocks and small white flowers on the branches.

Heres what i got with one vs two branches...

If you did the one branch, you could put in filler pieces..maybe some baby's breath or other flowers? Not sure what your theme is..

    2 defintiely look better.

I'd say do the 2 branches per jar and have those on 6 of the tables, and then smaller centerpieces/ flowers in the jars on the other 4. It'd be about half and half, I don't think it would look strange if the other centerpieces were complementary.

Both look good, but 2 does look better. A coworker of mine was able to rent the branches from a local florist. Maybe that would be an option to look into? Or check out something like tradesy to see if you can get a deal on ones other brides are selling. http://www.tradesy.com/search?q=manzanita

I agree with JennaPie. I love a mix of centerpieces.

Have you checked websites like tradesy to see if you can get second hand ones for a cheaper price? I agree that it looks much better with two. If you do not feel comfortable spending more money at the same store, I would run a search on cheaper ones. Sorry I am not quite sure where to look for them..

Should i send the etsy seller a message to express my disappointment- give him a chance to redeem himself before i leave a nasty feedback. its etsy i mean its not like its returnable.

Check with the seller and see what they say. I always do what I can do to work with a customer and would like to believe others will do the same. Let us know the outcome.

I got some beautiful manzanita branches from eBay. Mine are 18" high and about 12-15" across. I paid $12 per 6 branches with $10 shipping. The seller was a.p._vonhinden

I live in an area with lots of manzanita. They are a natural product...sometimes wide, sometimes narrow!

I worry that it's going to tip over.

Why not do some high centerpieces and some low? If the tall centerpieces get too "thick" it is hard for your guests to see through....so I prefer the one branch, personally (just weight it down!!!).

What if you just cut 3-4 inches off the bottom of the branch? Personally, I think the single one will work better because it gets tall before it gets full, meaning your guests won't have to look around the centerpieces to talk to one another.

Try save-on-crafts, they have 16-18'' ones for 3/$15 maybe you could incorporate those with the ones you have. I'm not sure how tall the ones you bought are or if the ones from save-on-crafts would match, but wouldnt hurt to check out the website.
