Making pretty bows for diy EVERYTHING

Mika, on May 27, 2012 at 1:10 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 2

I'm definitely going diy with this wedding, everything from doing all of the floral arrangements with silk flowers to printing, assembling, and calligraphy-ing my invitations, and my years of craft obsessions have totally paid off, except for my total lack of ability to tie a bow that lies straight in line with the ribbon it's on. They come out all crooked and off kilter from the line of the ribbon. Does anyone know of a trick for making pretty bows that don't sit all wonky?

After you tie the bow turn it in the other direction that its leaning towards and that usually works.

The secret to making a good bow is to twist te ribbon behind the first loop before making the second loop. :-)

I also use ribbon that has a very thin wire along the edges.

Here's some pics of bows I've made for the wedding. I changed the bag design but kept the bows LOL
