We all know recycling is good for the environment, but how about for weddings too? Consider using your ceremony's altar flowers as decoration for your reception buffet table, move votive candles from the cocktail area to guest tables for dinner, and place pew floral decorations as centerpieces! By reusing a few items here and there, your guests will be none the wiser and you can save some cash.

    Some other ideas:

    - Ask the ceremony / reception location if they have a recycling program in place with the city.

    - Choose a caterer / alcohol provider / friend that can recycle empty bottles at a facility after the wedding.

    - Buy vintage dresses and have them updated with your own touch by a tailor.

Borrow wedding day jewelry and other accessories such as veil & tiara from friends.

I know a group of friends who started a tradition of passing on the garter which I thought was a cute idea.
