It happened again, my app shows hundreds of notifications

Mine stopped telling me when someone commented. Guess we got the opposite

I really dislike this app. But, I ♡ the forums, so....

What app version is everyone using? The most updated ones are Android 8.5.2 and iOS 8.3.1!

Hey there all! I tried playing around with these notifications myself to get to the bottom of this issue. What I found was when I got each new notification pushed to my homescreen, when I either followed that through to the app, or just swiped to dismiss it, that removed the counter icon on the app. Like you, if I went directly to the app there way no way to clear the notifications.

What I'd do is clear the counter icons to start fresh.

Hop into your phone's Settings, then click to manage your Apps

Then click into Notifications settings

Then change the settings for your notification icons

Turning the icon badge with number setting off will control the counter icons for all your apps, but if you're ok with that, this action should reset your counter.

And if you're loving the WeddingWire app but not enjoying getting notifications in general, you can turn these off from within the app.

Go into your App's Settings through the gear icon on the home screen

Slide these notification preferences off and on any time you like

View Quoted Comment Thanks Jo, not sure I have the same system as you with my phone because I don't have those options. I did however find the notifications for apps through my App Manager and they were already turned off. I also went to my WW app and it shows my notifications turned off there too.

Sorry I uploaded the wrong image....I did change my phone setting to block WW but my WW app itself has always been set to not send notifications.

Oof, that's extra confusing then! If you've set your phone to show no notifications for the WW app and it is still showing them anyway that makes me wonder whether this is an issue with your phone. Do you have any pending system updates? What version of Android is your phone running?
