Is It Normal To Try On Your Dress Several Times...

PrettyinPink, on January 23, 2018 at 8:41 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

Okay, I promise this is my last post for the day (I hope)! Long story short, I want to go back on and try my dress on before I decide on a veil and hair piece. When I was deciding on a dress, I tried the dress on twice and even came back in after ordering it with my mother a month later to try it on and show her. The dress just arrived a couple weeks ago and I tried it on right when it came in. I was kind of overwhelmed and too concerned with my weight gain to even comprehend all of it. Now I'm in the process of trying to find a veil and hairpiece before my 2nd hair and makeup trial and I want to know if they would find it annoying if I came in 2 weeks later to try on the dress with some other veil options from their store. My first alterations appointment is coming up the beginning of February, however, I need to decide on accessories before that date. I always tell them they don't need to be by my side and that I just want to come in and try it on, but not sure? I always ask to come during a slow time so I wont be interrupting any other brides - it isn't a huge bridal boutique and never busy when I'm there (it isn't like David's or Kleinfeld).

I would go and try on the dress with several veil and accessories options. Knock all that out in one day so you don't have to return Smiley smile. Its your big day and of course you want to make sure everything is perfect! Nothing wrong with that Smiley smile

I don't think that it would be an issue especially since you would be considering buying more from them with the veil and accessories. If they have a problem with it I definitely wouldn't give them any more of my money for accessories.

That's definitely acceptable. Don't forget shoes either! You have to have your shoes (or at least your shoe height) picked out before you can do any alterations

The way I see it.... wedding dresses are expensive. You paid them a ton of money, and the dress is yours. Do what you need to!

Okay, I've just been several times even after buying the dress just to look at myself in it, ha. But they did it backwards, the designer hemmed it before it came in and that made it easier I guess! Thanks.

I imagine they'd be happy to see you and have the chance to sell some accessories. I'm sure most brides do this in store, and if you already bought your dress from the same shop, I don't see why they'd be annoyed to see you again as a loyal return customer.

I think it's fine. I would call ahead an make an appointment so they will block the time for you.
