Is it normal to get a "used" looking dress from Davids Bridal?

Bobbi, on December 30, 2017 at 12:18 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
I ordered my dress in August and received it in October. Just tried it on for the first time tonight, and the lace at the bust and straps looks all fuzzy and frayed in spots! Is this normal to expect from a new dress and lace?

No, it is not. If you purchase something brand new I would expect it to be in new condition. I purchased a bridesmaid dress online from there and they sent me one that had fake tanning stains inside! I exchanged it. I would definitely exchange it if you're unhappy.

I was told by davids bridal that sometimes they send you dresses off the rack that people have tried on multiple times or sometimes they send you brand new never worn before ones. It depends on where it’s coming from I guess. I’d definitely complain and ask for an exchange. One of my five bridesmaids had an issue with their dress with the lace being frayed and discolored in multiple areas and they happily exchanged it for her.

Called them today and they were SO helpful! Dropped it off, they validated my concern, and they ordered me a brand new dress that's due to be in at the end of the month. Whew! Thanks goodness I ordered so early. Crisis averted!

Glad they were able to work with you. I would have been upset had I received my gown in that condition. When we purchased my mother’s dress from David’s Bridal they tried to give us the dress from off the rack. It, too, looked fuzzy and frayed, and I did not think it was right that we were being charged full price for a dress that had been tried on who knows how many times. I spoke up and they said they would order her a new dress. The sale associate did seem a little put off by my request, but I was not going to leave without a perfect looking dress.

Ugh. Glad this worked out and that they were so receptive to your concerns. My dress had some random holes in the underlayment that my alterations person commented on, but it did not make a difference in the look and I did not have time to order a new one and get it altered.
