Is anyone doing the two dress thing?

Hannah, on June 9, 2014 at 3:13 PM Posted in Planning 0 27

I got an awesome deal when I bought my dress... it was VW out of season and on sale!!! So I am waaaay under a thousand on total price of my dress (undergarments included). I was thinking of maybe getting a second dress for the reception l was thinking something more fitted and mature. My wedding dress is a ball gown like this... Anyone thinking of or doing two dresses??

Do you mean the reception? I considered it, but I love my dress so much I don't want to change out of it.

I'm not doing two dresses, but it can be fun if that's what you want to do.

My take on it is that I spent a lot of time/money finding the right dress so I'm going to wear it the whole way through.

Yes... reception, lol. Our first dance is a mix of 4 songs so I keep thinking my movements my seem a little stiff in a ball gown, although i do loooove my dress Smiley smile

I'm just doing one dress. Personally I think two dresses is a waste, unless you are going to wear both dresses again. If I'm going to spend money on a wedding dress that I'm only going to wear for one day then I'm going to wear it alll day.

I'm considering getting my dress altered afterwards to be less of a ballgown dress and make it shorter so that I could wear it again.

I'm doing 2 dresses, but my second dress I will be able to wear it after my wedding. My first dress is a big ballroom gown too, and my second is a Chinese dress that I'll wear over dinner only and as a "going-away" dress.

Sorta. I didn't want to, but it's a Chinese tradition to wear the red wedding dress. I wore my white wedding up until the last hour and changed into the red one.

I plan to order my dress from dhgate (don't judge please) I talked with the lady there and told her what I wanted. So she is going to make my dream dress (image 1 to convert like image 2) so yes two dresses (in one)

I am doing just one dress. If I won one or got one that I loved for free then MAYBE I would do a switch but I would probably try selling it to get money for the wedding. I am happy wearing my same dress all day!

I'm thinking about it. I would wear the "wedding dress" for the reception, through speeches, cake cutting, and dinner. I am thinking of then changing into a dress that allows me to dance better. Still undecided about it though.

I'm doing two dresses. I absolutely LOVE my wedding dress though, but I thought it would be cute to change into a different, more airy dress at the end of the night (perhaps half an hour before leaving our venue).

I'm considering a "getaway dress" to wear as we're leaving the whole wedding (mostly so I can take off the Spanx and put on the fancy undies) but I'm not taking my dress off until I have to. Smiley smile

I am!!! I'm wearing 2 dresses. Both dresses are not expensive (a little under $800 for both) as I bought them from Etsy and Aliexpress, but they are quality. I figured what the heck, I am going to have a statement dress for the ceremony and another beautiful simple dress for the reception.

This will be my only marriage (speaking into existence), so I decided to go all out.

Nah, I'm too obsessed with my one dress, even though I got an amazing deal as well, to want to change.

My friend wore that dress in the pic you posted for ceremony + reception and she looked gorgeous in it the entire night so flowy she basically glided.

I'm rocking 1 because i plan on looking ba ba ba banging and having all the fat sucked in within an inch of its life.

I love my dress too much to want to take it off! HA! When I bought it, the sales lady let me sit outside the dressing room for almost 15 mins because I never wanted to take it off! LOL!!
