Invitation questions- help appreciated!

Patricia, on February 12, 2011 at 6:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

I finally narrowed down the list of potential invites for our love bird wedding &created a digital proof. A few questions- help!

1. Is it ok to list your wedding website URL on the bottom of RSVP by saying "for more information about our wedding, please visit: www.." It won't fit on the invite. I know people will have to mail these back, but hopefully they can copy down the URL first. The pic I attached has lines for entree choices, the company said they can delete them so pls ignore.

2. How many extra outer envelopes are you ordering for addressing mistakes? If I order 100 invitations, 15?

3. They have matching place cards- $45 for 75. I was going to make my own escort cds table signs with a handdrawn lovebird image using the same antique color paper as my DIY handdrawn thank yous (of our venue), but should plc cds match the invitations? I am worried it will look too piecemeal if I DIY plc cds, but how many people will remember what the invitations looked like come my wedding?

FYI, here's the matching place card. Also, I shifted the thank you note drawing down a bit since that picture, to give it more "white space" on top- so it looks better now.

I had a friend that worked at kinko's, she made little separate things to put in with the invites that said "Please visit www..... for all the wedding information"

You should talk to somebody there, they might be able to help you.

I love your invites! they are very pretty!

I love the bird design! I would suggest having the wedding website on a separate insert card. Is the reception at the same location? You could do a business card size insert for the website. They need to keep that after they send the responses back.

The place card you have posted is actually an escort card. Placecards have the individuals names oon them and are placed at each setting.

Oops, yes, that's what I need- escort cards, not place cards- don't care which actual seat people take just the table. Jessica, I was trying to avoid paying for the matching info cards, so I love your idea of printing out a business card with the URL info to include- much cheaper!

The website on the RSVP is fine. I like it. I am not getting extra envelopes because I am having the invitation compay pring out the labels that are decorative and go half way around the envelope.

Your drawing is beautiful, too. I wouldn't worry about being too matchy-matchy. Your guests will appreciate your personal touches.

I printed my wedding website and accommodation information on the back of my invite. http://genevieveswedding.blogspot.com/2010/02/vellum-printing-problems.html

I didn't use any extra envelopes.
