And I am scared that someone's dog might outshine me. And I don't want them to bring a dish to pass but I can't afford to feed all 300 guests so do you think this would be tacky. Oh and I invited all my church going friends but one girl because I don't like her but I'm scared she is going to show up.

What ever should I do?

The trick is to dress up like a dog yourself and then all of the attention will be on you and no one will notice the real dog. You could at the same time use the dog as security for the unwanted guest. Win win.
