So my fmil just arrived from Florida to our house in Omaha. She is tired and worried since her husband is still in Florida (he refused to leave since his dad wont leave). FH's mom calls me asking why we cant afford groceries (we are becoming low, tomorrow is my normal grocery shopping day)....I was surprised and said we can afford groceries (I usually go grocery shopping every other Sunday). Apparently FH told his mom we cant afford groceries and are tight on money due to the wedding, but he is going out to the bars and strip club tonight for his bachelor party. Sometimes he makes zeros sense.

Did he say it to her in a sarcastic way? When I try to use humorous snark with my mother it just goes way over her head haha. I could totally see her actually thinking I was broke if I said something like that jokingly.

@ Ariella, I already did, I called him and he could tell I was furious. Whether he was joking or not, he knows that I find it humiliating that he told his mother that. I know its his personality to joke around, and the fact his mom will always offer to buy us groceries when she visits even after I tell her I can buy them she still does. I told him he needs to get off mommies coattails and stop. He said he was joking, but it still was irritating nonetheless.
