I'm also in the early planning stages of my wedding and can relate to feeling overwhelmed! It seems like you've already picked a date so that's good. I would suggest coming up with a budget and making a guest list (if you haven't done it yet). That way you'll know if your wedding falls into the sm/med/lg category and you'll be able come up with cost estimates for food. The next thing I'd recommend is to start researching ceremony/reception venues. Once you find the location, it will help you determine what other vendors you'll need. Some places have exclusive or preferred caterers. Some incl food, drinks, cake, linens, etc. Others places incl nothing! Plus, depending on the area you live in...venues book up quickly! This has been my approach and has worked out so far. Another thing I did was pick the top 3-5 things that are most important to me. Just take it one day at a time and one task at a time, and try not to stress out too much! You'll do great and things will fall into place!

    Well, first of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!

so, where to start? first of all, BREATHE. Relax. lay back, close your eyes & just enjoy the moment! In the movies planning a wedding seems so gloriously enjoyable, however it can certainly be stressful and overwhelming-especially if u don't know where to begin!

To enjoy the season of being engaged as much as possible, a great place to start is by reading mags & making a to do list, so you can have a break down of what it takes get a wedding going!

now you have peace of mind about what you NEED to do, BREATHE. & think about what you WANT to do! make your day a reflection of you and your fiance, you don't have to follow the rules, just make your day fun for you.

once you know what you want, its time to GATHER, friends & family and begin to discuss and delegate.

    so heres the breakdown lol:

    study

    create lists

    dream up ideas

    gather & delgate!

if you need ANYTHING id love to extend my personal email to you for any q's.much love.x

    Hi to both of you....

My name is Caroline and I am a Professional Wedding Planner and a Certified Travel Consultant in Mesa,AZ.

Have you thought of hiring a planner to help so you are not overwhelmed? Then thought you could not afford one? Well I will tell you I like to work with small budgets....LOL....We are retired military so know how to make that money go a long way....So if you would like to discuss that option with me send me an Email or give me a call.

Now Wedding and School not a fun thing to do....LOL....BUT lets get you going on the right track so you can breath a little bit anyway.

    1. Pick your Date (Sometimes this is easy some not) A tip if you are in AZ and can do a summer wedding you are better off because they need business so the rates are much cheaper.

    2. Decide what kind of wedding you want formal or informal

    3. Research your venues and put down your depoist to hold your space

    4. Choose your attendants

    5. Determine your colors

    Anyway

    6. Select your wedding gown

    7. Begin your guest list. The best thing to do here is you have eveyone involved make their list. I.E. You make yours, groom makes his, parents of the bride and groom make theirs then put them all together decided on the numbers and if you have to many then divide the overage by the 4 of you and then each person has to delete their amt.

This will get you started and if you would send me your mailing address I will send you both a nice checklist to go by.

Yeah I know what you mean, I have the same feeling after I got engaged. Set a budget and put together a list of guests that you want to invite. Research on reception halls and find out approx how much they charges. You have to make a lot of calls and set a side some times to go check out the places and then find a date that they are available. After that you will have to pick your bridesmaid. Just do it one step at a time.

    Congrats!

First off to take some of stress off you, consider hiring a wedding planner to relief some stress so that you are able to focus on school. Then that way when your day comes you can enjoy it more. See what you have work with in you budget for your wedding.
