How would you feel if your M.O.H.....

WinterBride, on July 27, 2008 at 8:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 2

....didn't make you their M.O.H? I have a very good friend of mine that's getting married 3 months after me. I made her my M.O.H. but she hasnt said ANYTHING about making me hers! I thought we were BFF's but now I'm second guessing myself. She doesnt have any sisters & although she has known most of her child-hood friends much longer than she has known me, we are definitely closer than she is with ANY of them. She BARELY talks to them and was even contemplating putting them in the Bridal Party. However, I feel that she will NOT make me her M.O.H.....& make us all bridesmaids so she wouldnt step on any of their toes/hurt their feelings. However, I was put in the SAME situation (when chossing my Bridal Party) and STILL chose her over my childhood friends or family because that's how important I feel she is and how tight I "thought" our bond was! Would I be wrong for feeling hurt if she doesnt choose me as her M.O.H.? Would I be wrong for being upset with her?

Deciding who gets what title can be tricky, and it is impossible to really make everyone happy. But the bottom line~ how honored would you really feel if she asked you out of obligation? I understand the value you put on the relationship by asking her to be your MOH, but you can see by what she hase done for you so far, how much weight she puts into the title. There are many modern gals out there that feel the title of MOH is more of a "might as well be you" kind of thing vs. the traditional "bride doesn't lift a finger MOH does it all ". In the day and age where vendors can do it all, MOH many times takes more of a back seat role. There are many of my clients that forego giving the title to anyone, or don't have any attendants, becuase they know I will be there for every desicion, eevery missed button, and every tear on the day...

Now if that still doesn't work~ talk to her! She's not going to get the picture this way ( unless she is on wedding wire!)

    Best Wishes & Congrats!

Well maybe she just assumes since you are great friends that you already think or know that you are her MOH? Or maybe she is jsut so stressed maybe she thought she already asked you, try to sneak it in there. Go up to her and ask if she needs help with anything. And then ask well do you have your bridal party together? Because they will help you, and maybe she will say something to you about it. If she ends up not having you it is ok to be upset but don't let her know that she is already stressed and probably have a million things going on in her head just wait til it's all over for awhile and let her know you was upset about it.
