How to have guests RSVP

Stacey, on January 18, 2017 at 3:15 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

I am trying to decide if I should send RSVP cards with invitations as a way for our guests to let us know they're coming, or have them RSVP via a wedding website.

I always forget when it's an online rsvp. The rsvp card is what helps me remember I still need to.

You can do both, but definitely have the cards. Personally, I won't look at your website. I don't care and I will forget to RSVP via it. If I have a physical RSVP, it goes on the corkboard and I have to walk by it every day. I will remember it.

You could have both options. We just did online and no major issues so far, but I have had to RSVP for some of my less tech-savvy family.

You can do either or both!

I prefer the physical RSVP card because it's more formal and traditional, and like @FutureRand said - I remember that I have to send that card back!! Paper RSVPs will also be better for your less tech-savvy guests.

I did both, I sent out RSVP cards with the invitation, and wrote along the bottom: "You can also RSVP online" with the website, and on the website page I clarified to just use one or the other. I've received RSVPs in both formats, and when I get the cards I just input them into the guest list on WW! I like it a lot, and that way everyone can respond how they would prefer

We always have our invitations on the fridge, help on by a magnet. We've been invited to around 5 weddings a year, over the last 5 years. By far, internet responses have been the way to go.

We requested online responses, through the response page set-up on our wedding website. All but 2 guests responded, 10 days before our due date. My then 88 year old grandmother was able to do it and she mainly uses the internet to play games.

P.S. We had a very formal wedding - the whole 9 yards. But we're into practicality and not wasting.
