How to decide what makeup look to go for?

Jolie, on April 24, 2019 at 2:36 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 7

For those of you out there who love makeup like myself, was it difficult to narrow down what you want for your bridal makeup?? Did you just stick with a favorite eyeshadow look/color scheme you know looks good on you, or did you want something different? I am so torn between two color schemes for eyeshadow and idk what to pick!! I'm worried I am gonna get to my makeup artist on Saturday for my trial and still be undecided. Would she just decide for me based on what she think would "look better"? I am torn between a mauve/cranberry rose gold eye or a more warm crease with deep bronze on the lid and dark browns on the outter corner.

I have a few different inspiration pictures from Pinterest that use the same kind of colors/ideas that I am going to show my HMUA when I go for my trial next Saturday. I personally want something really glowy and bronze/gold because that's the look I tend to like on myself and am comfortable with and I also think it will look great for our summer wedding. I would bring the pictures and see what she thinks.

I know this would be funny, but can she do both? One of each eye? Or both eyes, wipe it off, then do it again?

I knew I wanted some glam because although I'm not very good at applying my own makeup, I LOVE having my makeup professionally done for special occasions and love the glam look. I started by looking up ideas on Pinterest on women with similar coloring to me (brown eyes, dark brown hair, pale-ish skin, etc). I'll probably bring a few ideas to the makeup artist and let her take it from there, but I know her personally and trust her completely. If you're really not sure on just the eyeshadow colors, you could ask her to try both out on you and compare the pictures to decide.

Good idea! I might ask her that if I really can’t decide! I’m also gonna try using those color schemes for the next two days on myself so that I can get a feel and see if that’ll help me decide 👍🏼

That sounds like a good idea! The make up artist may be able to give you advice as well. Sounds like you'll be good though!

I love makeup, and I do wild colorful looks for fun, but for the wedding, I really want to keep it a bit more natural. Rose gold tones look really good with my complexion, so we're sticking with that, with darker, neutral browns in the crease. Nothing too blown out. Maybe look at your flowers and preferred lipstick for some guidance?
