How much?

Kaitlin, on March 20, 2018 at 5:36 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11
I want to use these for the backs of my chairs, but I’m not sure how much baby’s breath to use in each. I’m not using a florist, I’m doing it myself and ordering in bulk from Sam’s Club. I’m trying to figure out how much I’ll need per chair. They baby’s breath is sold in bunches. How many bunches is this? Just one? TIA

Sams Club tells you how many stems per bunch. Do a mockup and see how many stems you need to get the look you like, then multiply by your number of chairs. Your pic likely uses 3-4 stems, not bunches.

It looks like 3 to 4 to me; I would do a trial run and see how many per chair.

I would call and ask them about how big the “buch” is, as far as I knew baby’s breath usually comes in a BIG buch so that chair is likely not even one bunch but a part of a “bunch”.
Probably 3-4 stems per chair like PP said. We are doing something similar, so I want to remind you this will be a time consuming task depending on how many chairs you have so remember to have adequate time & help.

That is definitely less than a bunch. I would see if you could order just 1 bunch and the use that to do mock chairs.

We only have a guest list of about 60 and I think about only 40 will show so hopefully it won’t take that long. My MOH, one bridesmaid, and FMIL graciously offered to help though thank goodness.

I was thinking of finding some at the store or a florist and possibly doing a mock up first to see. I just wasn’t sure what one bunch actually looked like. lol thanks for your input!

I do party decorations and I get all my flowers from Sam’s and I would tell you that’s 2 (keep in mind some bunches come smaller than others) I will definitely count it as 3! Smiley smile

My tip is to definitely do a mock up on the exact same chair or style of chair as you will be using. Measure the burlap ribbon and then pre-cut the lengths for all your chairs so all you have to do the day of the wedding is wrap the ribbon on the chairs.

Yes! I planned on doing this. I know someone with similar chairs to what we’re ysing so I’m going to borrow one to measure. I want to have as much out of the way as soon as possible.

I’d plan on all 60 when figuring out pricing so that the number will be lower not higher if the actual number of guests is 60. I just mention it bc we have 130 people coming and we have pews at the ceremony but the reception will have these chairs with covers & were going horizontal instof vertical, but we got our inspiration from this specific picture. So this is why I mentioned thinking about it bc we didn’t at first, but we have plenty of people to help and free reign over the venue for the days leading up to the wedding so we have time to do that Smiley smile
