I love our story Smiley smile) We went golfing one morning and as I putted my ball into the second hole, it hit a box with a diamond ring inside! It was a TOTAL surprise and he had some of our best friends hiding out taking pictures Smiley smile the whole golf course clapped and everyone cheered when we made it back to the clubhouse Smiley smile

FH planned a surprise getaway weekend (we ultimately ended up in Cleveland, OH) and proposed at the Western Reserve Historical Society at the "Tying the Knot" exhibit. I never saw it coming. We had vaguely talked about getting married "someday", but never looked at rings together.

I thought we were there to see a baseball exhibit and the Tying the Knot was just something we were passing through on our way. I was casually looking at dresses when he asked me what my favorite was. I turned to point one out from the early 1900s and when I turned back he was down on knee asking me to marry him. I was speechless.

He gave me a 3-stone ring because he is not only taking a wife, but also my two daughters. He wanted me to know that he's in this for all 3 of us, and that he loves all 3 of us.

I don't know how it's possible, but every day I find new reasons to love him. Blessed is the best way I can describe it. Truly blessed.

Well I just happen to love to tell my story!

It was our 4th anniversary, and we both had said that one item on our bucket list was a Hot Air Balloon Ride, so one day I came home and he said for our anniversary we're going to take a balloon ride over the state park near us. So thrilled, everyone kept saying oh he is going to purpose, but he kept saying no not until you are done with school, the week leading up everyone said I just have this feeling he is going to ask you, but he literally just spent $7800 on a new front porch for the house, and I was like no he can't afford ring right now and I would come home and he would get so mad and say can't we just go for a balloon ride. And as we were getting on the balloon my best friend said good luck i'm assuming no ring haven't heard. As our ride was coming to an end he put his arms around me and said will you marry me with a closed box, and I said shut the eff up and continue to look at the view and he said oh will you marry me and I said

    He's amazing :-)

The exhibit ends on February 14 so we're going back this weekend to check it out one last time and to revisit "our spot". It was such a whirlwind the last time.

Mine: We had made Labor Day plans which involved us meeting at a friend’s house in Michigan to spend the holiday. It was just a bus ride away and the plan had been for me to head out 12am to arrive Detroit by 5am. Unfortunately the plans did not work out and I was stuck in Chicago having the only other option of heading to Detroit the next day which would mean most of my holiday would be spent on the road.Clearly I wasn’t feeling this idea so in frustration I called the whole trip off (my blood can HOT sometimes tho!). David tried to talk me into coming regardless but to no avail so he and his friend got in the car and made the trip down to Chicago to come get me(my Superman moment) Smiley smileFine, I thought this was sweet but I had no clue what more was left for me to discover on that trip. They arrived at my house at about 11am and decided to chill a bit while I got things together for the trip back to Detroit.

While I was packing up, David had asked me to come to the living room and take a seat, while he demonstrated what was supposed to have been a "dare" by his friend who he came with. He asked if I had read my bible the previous day which was 1 Corinthians 13 on our bible reading plan, I told him I did but was wondering what this had to do with the "dare". Apparently the "dare" was to go all mushy expressing his love for me in front of his friend; David was not expected to have been able to pull this off since he is the shy type.

I was clueless about this "dare" but hey, who wouldn’t mind extra and unexpected "I love you's" at 11am? So I sat, he got on his knees with the bible, I listened and listened as he read....."Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal……Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own...

By the time David was done reading the passage and personifying it as a foundation for our relationship, in my overwhelmed state, I gave him a hug. This was normal, But what was not normal and was very much unexpected was what followed when we came apart from the embrace.....It was a ring as he said "Ekenebukechukwu Gianna Ozule would you marry me?"*my hands across my mouth in silence, the type where you can hear a pin drop*After about 3 minutes silence, I hugged him even tighter forgetting I had not even given an answer. Then he reminded me “You still haven’t given me an answer”, then I whispered..."YES".

yeah, Long one i know! LOL

FH put the ring in the prize of a cracker jack box and gave it to me at a Met game. My sister recorded it with her phone and was able to pull some still shots from there.

    We'llalwayshaveparis, my story is similar.

my fiancée and i are both very private people about our love. i'd told him that if he ever proposed, I wanted pictures, but have them after he proposed so it would be just us. One weekend a bunch of us went to the Philly zoo and he separated the three of us (me, my son, and him) from the group by saying he wanted to see the bear exhibit. I had turned around to see something and my son came over to me and handed me a necklace. it was a clear glass locket with a small aquamarine, a small sapphire, and a small ruby inside (each of our birthstones). I turned back around to ask him what it was for and he was down on one knee with the ring out. he said, “Because I want you to know that I don’t want to just marry you, I want us to be a family. Be my wife?” What was I supposed to say? I started crying and laughing and hugging him and my son and my answer was, “Yes, yes, yes, a million-trillion times yes!” it was perfect, private, and just us!

Ray_chull that is so sweet I am jealous you have pictures, there were other people in the balloon with us, but we were so close FH couldn't ask or say anything without me hearing, but oddly enough no one in the balloon knew it until we landed and were back in the chase van heading back to the park.

    love hearing all these stories!

I didn't realize more people would fit in a balloon!! Those pictures are seriously gorgeous, what a beautiful landscape!!

I really love having the pictures, my face was priceless the whole time. Not a very attractive, downward smile, choking up, about to sob kind of thing Smiley winking I'm lucky he went through with it! hehe

We were visiting my parents in Florida and we went to swim with Dolphins the morning of. When we got home my mom said she was going to make us dinner for our last night of vacation and that she forgot something at the supermarket. She asked me to go with her and when I came back I could not find FH. Finally I found him when I went out onto the balcony (we were 10 stories high) and he had written in the sand "Lindsey will you marry me?" I was sooo suprised. He had the ring shipped to Florida!

My FH completely surprised me. I woke up that Sunday and after taking a shower and all he told me we had to leave in 20 minutes..I had totally forgotten we had told my parents we would be over that day for a trash can dinner(yes, I know what it sounds like--you buy a clean metal trash can and throw in corn, sausage, potatoes, hot dogs and cook it all together. SO good.). So I rushed to get ready to leave. I knew a proposal was coming as I helped design the ring, but I was convinced it was going to be the following week on our anniversary so I never expected anything. Well, he was completely normal the whole time. Pull up to my parents house and the whole entire family was there outside..I had no idea why. Then I saw him with the box in his hand. He was so nervous then his hands were shaking so badly. I was just in shock!! He gave a beautiful speech but of course I was too excited to remember it Smiley winking
