Hair accessory came in

Mrs.Mayes, on July 9, 2014 at 5:15 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

Ordered it from lightinthebox.com and wasn't expecting much since it's from china but it turned out beautiful. My problem is trying to figure out how it's going to stay on my head. I thought was was on like a head band but it turns out after the pretty part you're supposed to look at it's got a chain that's supposed to keep it in place. Well my head is to big so it just kind sits on my head and wants to fall off. Should I take the chain off and put bobby pins through the holes where the chain was or keep the chain and try to see if I can stick it underneath some hair and add a ton of bobby pins? My cousin is doing my hair so I'm trying to come up with ways for her to try and fix it during my trial. Also what hairstyle would look good with it? Here's some pics. Ignore my hair, I was getting ready to take a shower and my hair looks horrible and I can barely brush it then.

If you take pieces of your hair and pull them up and over the sides, that'll help (like a half up-half down hairstyle).

I would try bobby pins or affixing hair combs to the side since it's not working at a circlet.

I was thinking bobby pins. The tight kind, not the u-shaped. Its really pretty too!

Bobby pins will definitely help hold it on. I think if you pulled some of your hair up over the chain (so that the hair above the crown of your head is over the chain and the rest is below it) would look nice and would hide the chain and bobby pins. Then you could wear it straight or with loose curls. But that's just my opinion Smiley smile It's beautiful, by the way!

Mine didn't have a chain, just the loops at the ends. I got some thin ribbon to loop through and it'll go under my half up hair with my veil. I think it'll look good with the chain to have your hair half up Smiley smile

Wait- if the chain comes out, why don't you find a cheap, longer chain and replace it!

I'd have to break the chain some how. And even then I'm afraid it would still slip off my head easily.

Do me a favor. Take a picture of where the chain attaches to the main piece, enlarge it, and post it. Let me look at it. I used to make jewelry.

My FH said we could try getting a chain extender and see if that helped.

You may be able to take needle nose pliers and pry the last link off. I can't see the last link that well, so you'd have to check. As long as you can see the link beginning and ending, just pry it off. But use needle nose - you can probably go on youtube and find the instructions.

I'd try the chain extender, or replace the chain with one that's slightly larger. It it's too small, it will slip. If it's just right, it won't, but you might want to still secure it with bobby pins so that you can move around.
