Etiquette for registry.

How do you let people know where you are registered? I've heard that you are supposed to let the bridal party/parents know and they can tell people if people ask. Is this true? And are you supposed to put where you're registered on your wedding website?

This is confusing me too. Almost every wedding I have been invited to has said on the back of the invite, or has said to check the wedding website for the registry. In my opinion, if the registry is not mentioned and guests have to take time to ask, it could be frustrating. Its a wedding. Its not a surprise that the couple would have a registry. I'm not sure why this subject has to be tip- toed around, frankly its annoying.

My MOB and FMIL will be including our Registry info in our shower invitations. I will not be including it on your wedding invitations. If they want to know they'll have to ask our parents. I always thought gifts were an odd thing at the wedding

A wedding website is a wonderful place to put your registry information. Also, let your parents and bridal party know as guests will most likely ask them. Happy planning!

It is acceptable to include your registry information on a shower invitation a showers are all about gifts. You can also include it on your website.

It is rude to include it with wedding invitations, because although most people do gift the bride and groom, there is no obligation to do so.

Traditionally, you started your registry at like age 8 for the rest of your life and would get stuff off of it for birthdays etc. when you get married d guests would ask around the department stores and find your registry- crazy right? Nowadays - wedding website

Wedding website. And word of mouth, as in if someone asks, you tell them but don't volunteer it. My FMIL, FSIL , and 2 friends have asked and we told them.

It's against etiquette to mention a registry, or gifts in general, anywhere inside your wedding invitation. It is okay to provide your registry info on your wedding website and provide a link to your wedding website somewhere inside your invitation. Just make sure the website link is provided in the context of "for additional information" or for some other reason that "go to our wedding website to see our registry."

If a guest asks you where you are registered, it is okay to share that info with them directly. It's also a good idea to let your parents know where you are registered because some guests may ask them for this information.

A bridal shower invitation is different. The point of the event is to shower you with gifts, so it's acceptable to put registry info on the invitation.

We put our registry on our website (link was on the invitation), and the woman who hosted our wedding shower included it on her invitation.
