Do purple flowers and orange flowers go with gray dresses?

Kristy, on January 7, 2012 at 12:53 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

OR should I do purple flowers and green flowers with light gray dresses? I like roses, calla lilies, day lilies are pretty, and so are delphiniums. Regardless of the combo, I prefer only two kinds of flowers in a bouquet. These bouquets will be my bridesmaids. I feel kind of stuck... I am not a huge wedding planner!!!! Thank you!

I like purple and green more than purple and orange...

Daylilies will not hold up in bouquets (unless you are thinking about Asiatic lilies)

    orange asiatic lily

    orange callas

I also love Iris for weddings

I am having a hard time finding just 2 flower bouquets to show you... Maybe in the morning when I am more awake...

Gray is a neutral, so everything goes with it.

So it is more which do you like better.

If you plan to use these colors to decorate the reception room, which combo goes better with the room?

What about this bouquet. I'm using these flowers so they don't overpower the BM dresses. Still purple, maybe not orange (but peach). The colors are muted so the dresses take center stage.

I think that purple and orange go great with gray. Of course our colors are purple and orange so I just really like them but still...gray is simple and would look good with how bright purple and orange can be. Even if you chose a light shade of purple and a bright orange. I think Any purple and orange would look good though. The colors work well together.

Edit: These are the flowers I have been using to base everything off of. I just figured I would share them. Not sure if this helps or is what you are looking for though.

I am just amazed with the amount of help you girls provide! Hayley.... yeah, I keep changing my mind! LOL. Smiley smile

Now green is in (for BMaids). I plan on having a full bouquet of white roses. I am sad that day lillies won't hold up for my BMs.... I am now 99% certain that I will do deep purple (but not the black type of purple) and light green flowers for BM's.

I will let you girls know when I figure which type of flower will be deep purple and which will be light green! Thanks, Ladies!

Our colors are purple and orange. My FH wanted grey tuxes but MW didn't have them. Here are our flowers. We're doing birds of paradise, purple irises, green hypericum berries, orange pincushion protea and mine will have purple and orange calla lilies.
