Do I have the right to be a little frustrated? E-pic mini-rant!

Lacey, on January 10, 2014 at 11:27 AM Posted in Planning 0 14

Let me give you a timeline!

November 3 - Took pictures, he told us our proofs to view would be ready in 24 hrs

November 17 - Proofs were actually ready - he gave us two weeks to choose which photos we wanted.

November 24- I ordered our photos - He let me know that he would do all final editing and put our proofs back online once more so we could look before he placed my order. I also inquired about getting a pic to use for FB - he said no problem

December 26 - I contacted him because I hadn't gotten our final proofs and hadn't heard from him. He let me know right away that he had been busy and was sorry he hadn't contacted us sooner - I said I had no problem, just wanted to keep in touch.

December 29 - Our final proofs - and I accepted them right away to be at the printers and inquired again about a FB pic - no problem, he'd get it to be the next day.

January 4 - Our pictures came in but I still don't have a picture for FB from him..

Yeah, I'd be more than a little aggravated.

You should get back to him again and say you want all your pictures in electronic files.

..do I have a right to be frustrated with this? I don't think he's intentionally forgetting to give me a picture to put on my Facebook - I just think I'm honestly forgettable. However, am I going to be annoying to ask him again for a picture? He's taking our wedding photos and he does a great job - I just want to put a cute photo of Zach and I on Facebook - is this too much to ask for?! :/

Um I would be nervous if he is this nonchalant with e-pics, what is he going to do with the wedding pics?

Yea I would defintely let him know this is not acceptable especially when you asking for ONE photo.

You should ask for electronic files of your photos and wedding photos if you can

Go & talk to him in person- that might get your further & makes it harder from him to "forget" or be "busy".

& I wouldn't say you are "forgettable!" Those are your pics, go & get em!

@Jesse's Girl - Glad to know I'm not the only one, I've been very cordial and nice about everything but the quick tempered part of me is starting to show and I'm trying to suppress it. Smiley winking

@LetItSnow - I'm not sure we can do that - for our wedding we paid for the rights to our photos on a CD, but not for our engagement photos since we really only wanted like 6 of the photos and he charged quite a bit to get the photos on a CD.

@D - Your opinion means a lot, thanks! I just get so nervous that I'm being a bother and don't want to anger anyone.

@RebeccaHope - He lives 45 minutes away so I haven't had the chance but that is a good option. And you have no idea how forgettable I truly am!! LOL - I'm not upset about it, it's just a fact. Teachers would think I was missing from the classroom in college and I'd be sitting right in front of them...

The distance would make it difficult to just drop by his studio! Does he have a facebook page? Post on it (not a negative post just an inquisitive one) & ask him about it. That might get him moving Smiley smile I used to be like that too- I've changed so much since high school/college a lot of people don't even recognize me now! Absolutely nothing wrong with being either way Smiley smile

You gotta stop saying that everything's " no problem" and put your foot down. No professional person would ever use an excuse as they're "too busy" there's no such thing. You never give any excuses as a vendor. None.

Was there a time line for E-pics written in your contract? If not, he is not bound to do them by a certain date unfortunately..If he still is wishy washy about the FB pic then please do make sure there is something in the contract for the time frame for the wedding pics.

Verbal promises need to be in writing with ANY vendor..I cannot stress this enough! :-)

Yes, you have the right. Our E-pics were done in 3 weeks and we took them in November. Now my Save the Dates from the same photographer have taken FOREVER!

@Champagne - I know, I know. But I feel like you really have to pick and choose your battles, and while I'm frustrated with this - I know that it could be worse.

@Ab - There was no certain time and I wasn't as much concerned about how long it was taking, just that he seems to keep forgetting that I want a photo for Facebook!

@Mrs. D - That's a bummer! When were you wanting to your Save the Dates out by?
