    Some couples jump over the broom at their ceremony. It symbolizes the transformation from being two separate people to being a married couple. Kind of like jumping into a new life. Smiley smile

    Thanks ladies, your opinions mean a lot!. Thanks Jlam for the explaination. @Courtney's mom, yes, the top opens so my guest can drop the cards in.Found the bird cage at Ross. Now, we have to decide if we are going to jump the broom at the ceremony or right when we walk onto the boat where the reception will be.@ Future Mrs. R. when do you plan to jump the broom?
