Destination Wedding Turnouts - How many were invited vs. how many Rsvp'd to come?

Pegs, on January 22, 2018 at 1:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

I know that with destination weddings, you can never really tell how many guests will come.

How many did you invite and how many actually attended?

Wanted to see if there was some sort of trend...

We had a semi-destination wedding (married out of state where my relatives live). We invited 125 and 72 came. My cousin had DW in the Dominican Republic. She invited about 100 or so and 30 came. Almost no wedding will see 100% attendance, and I saw blog posts while planning stating that DW tend to have 40-50% attendance rates due to expensive and distance of travel.

This is the one of the things ppl love best about DW. You know well enough in advance exactly who is coming because they have to pay for accommodations/travel in advance. My best friend got married in Jamaica and she invited about 50 ppl and about 35 came.
