Creative Favors on a budget

nikkiray, on June 14, 2016 at 1:26 PM Posted in Planning 0 26

Of course slowly but surely my budget is depleting lol. I would like to do some nice creative Favors but with our big guest list I don't want to spend much money. Any ideas and suggestions?

Don't do them! They aren't necessary, especially on a tight budget!

We got matches -- about 300 of them for $83 from David's Bridal with a coupon.

You can totally skip them. No one will miss them.

But if you have your heart set on giving out favors favors, you can get organic chapsticks for .28 each(http://www.bulkapothecary.com/lip-balm/white-stick-lip-balm-comes-in-6-great-flavors-starting-at-19-unit/) and then put personalized labels from Etsy on them.

That's what we did, super inexpensive and people loved them.

We've seen seed packets, lollipops and mini succulents at reasonable prices.

I echo PPs - if you're worried about budget, skip them. People won't even notice their absence, and most favors end up getting left at the reception or fall to the bottom of guest's cars anyways. I do love those chapsticks though, @mimitrue!

You could skip, or buy bulk Lindor chocolates. They're individually wrapped and look fancy.

One of our friends who recently got married used Oriental Trading Company for their favors (heart wedding bubbles with a personalized sticker on it). I don't know what they spent but they mentioned being able to get a ton for relatively cheap and they were cool. Seems like they have a wide selection of things as people also use it for birthday party supplies, etc.

I personally think you should do favors. It's a small way of saying thank you to the people

that came to celebrate your big day and who probably gave cash or a gift. You can always do Jordan almonds. Those are pretty cheap. (:

Skip them. At my cousins wedding, she did pens and her wedding was outdoors. Do you want to know what happened to those pens ? They ended up on the floor and the next day when I went and helped her clean up do you wanna know what I did with them? I threw them away because it rained over night and they got yuckie.

Don't do favors, especially if budget consideration is an issue.

Most people will leave them behind and 99.9% of people do not want a cheap trinket with the bride and grooms name and wedding date on it.

Don't bother. And if you still really want to do it, maybe something like cookies or small chocolates. (Half of the people still won't take them)

People on here usually complain about Jordan Almonds... Also, the reception IS the thank you.

Skip them. Better to do that than give out something cheap that will end up in the bottom of the junk drawer or left behind. Spend more money on food/beverages or do edible favors, except the almond thing.

We are doing cookies. Favors are kind of important to me. I want to give my guests something. I dont want it to be something that they trash so I figured food was the way to go. My baker is making me 120 cookies for $30 and I am going to buy personalized bags for them

We did a candy bar as our favor. Everyone still talks about it...

Only down side, in the end, it cost about 1K.
