Color scheme question, my head is going to explode...I'm sorry I have so many questions!

Patricia, on June 25, 2015 at 10:19 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

My wedding will be on February 28. I was going to do peach and mint as my wedding colors with some gray accents. Now I'm wondering if it would be better to do peach and gray with mint accents. Or maybe gold? What would be better do you think? I want it to be romantic and elegant. I am getting so overwhelmed with wanting the colors to be perfect, I feel like my head is going to explode. (I know it's an overreaction, but still. Just my feelings, ya know?)

Right now mint is a very popular color so I think either would be pretty and easy to find which will eliminate later stress!

    Stop. take a deep breath.

okay; in reality it won't matter. the only people who will know you spent weeks agonizing over which color is the main color and which is the accent is you and maybe FH. If you let it, everything gets like this.

What are you planning on having grey/mint as the secondary color? tablecloths? favors? BM dresses? Will peach and the second color be equal? Or not? You can also put the guys in grey, which will bring a lot of grey to the picture.

What is the venue like? What colors are already there?

    Hope that helps

ETA: I've spent a TON of time agonizing over stuff like this too. Just know whatever you decide is the right decision :-)

My original plan was to do mint tablecloths with peach centerpieces and gray napkins. Now I am worrying that might not be very elegant. Also, mint table cloths are really hard to find. The carpet in the reception space is red, but will not be noticeable because of how we are decorating the walls and ceiling. I'm thinking now we could do more blush and gray for the elegance and have mint as pops of color.

I would do grey tablecloths as they're probably easier to come by and are a neutral color. Or gold. I think gray or gold are timeless for tablecloths (they're still popular colors for 2015 but I think mint my look a little dated in a decade... even though it's a gorgeous color!)

To me this screams glamorous but elegant. I would keep peach as a small accent, don't go crazy, mint and gold look very nice together.

I agree with Elizabeth. Grey I think would be a better choice. Mint tablecloths might be also hard to match to anything. There are 150 million shades of mint. My sister is doing mint and peach. It has been difficult to match.

We chose to do ivory table cloths since there was so much going on (even though our colors are purple, grey and green).

Different shades of grey are also easy to match and don't look out of place. Mint is harder.

I love that pic. I don't think it would be easy to accomplish that with our venue and seating, but that is very pretty. I'm looking to maybe do peach/pink, champagne, grey, and gold. I feel like that is more elegant. I think the mint will be too hard to pull off, especially in February because it is more winter-y and mint is more spring-y.
