Ceremony/Reception in same venue?

To make a long story short, or reception venue rented us a small chapel on the grounds for a very cheap price. Unfortunately, it only fits 75 people and immediate family alone hits that number.

Our actual reception area however is absolutely huge. Ive been watching way too many episodes of My Fair Wedding and have seen quite a few couples have their ceremony in the middle of their reception space, with the reception area already set up around it. If we went that route, we'd be able to invite all 160 guests to both ceremony and reception.

I am just wondering if anyone else has done this/plan to do this/attended this and what the thoughts about it are.

We are setting it up that way. We'll be married on a little hill above the tables so everyone will see us fine.

I think as long as your guests are all able to see you and no one watches tables/chairs get set up or torn down it will be fine.

We had our ceremony on the lawn next to our reception space. The tables were set-up already and we enlisted the help of the GMs to move the ceremony chairs to the tables. We also had a cocktail hour in a 3rd location on the grounds so that people were able to separate themselves from the 2 spaces

We considered having the ceremony outside, but Iowa weather in September means its bound to rain. I dont want to have to only invite some to the ceremony, but I am really wondering if we could pull off both in the same location...

I am planning on having everyone be seated in their spots during the ceremony and then going from there to reception. Same room. Same seat

We are having out ceremony out on the patio of the clubhouse were using for the reception. and if it rains, we'll be setting up the ceremony inside as well.
