We booked our Honeymoon!! We are going on a Carnival cruise on November 11, 2019! This is our first cruise ever. We're Leaving from Miami, FL and our first stop is Key West, and then Cozumel. Any Advice for on the cruise? Or anyone want to share their experiences? 😄

Congratulations on booking your cruise! We're going on one for our honeymoon and it'll be my third! I love cruising! My advice to you would be to get a few sea bands that you wear on your wrists. They did wonders for any sea sickness (which wasn't a lot) that I experienced.

Hey Farrah! I've been on this exact cruise, not for my honeymoon, but still!! It was such an awesome time, both Key West and Cozumel are so gorgeous!! I recommend going snorkeling while you are in Cozumel, it was such a fun excursion! When you're in Key West, check out Duval Street, a ton of cool bars there!

I've done this cruise before, though it's been a minute. My small piece of advice after four cruise experiences is do not pay for the beach excursions where all they do is take you to a beach. It's a rip off. You can take a cab or whatever for way cheaper. Their only argument is that you're guaranteed transportation back and won't miss the ship. It's not that hard to set an alarm or just keep track of time. That being said, we did pay for a beach excursion in Cozumel on two cruises that took us to a nice beach that had lunch and drinks included; that was well worth the price. Also, eat in the main dining room for dinner. It's way better than the buffets; and they won't tell you this, but you can order as much as you want, so if you see two apps, entrees, or desserts that look good, go for it!

My only advice is to pack meds for sea sickness. I hear the patches work best although I’ve never tried them. I tend to always get sick but still have an awesome time! Cruises are awesome. Enjoy!

Oh! Also be sure to let them know you’re celebrating your honeymoon. I went for my bday last year and they not only had a little cake for me at dinner, but one night when we got back to our room, it was a spa credit card on the bed!

As a former cruise employee be sure to talk to the crew! Especially when it comes to taking cabs anywhere. We used to see cabbies in the islands charge passengers as much as $40 for what was a $7 ride. Crew know the best excursions, what to skip, the hidden gems and what things should cost. Unless you’re prone to motion sickness, don’t sweat it. Ships are floating cities. You won’t feel much movement at all.

Biking tours in Key West are nice and if you’ll be in Cozumel at night, Carlos and Charlie’s is always a hoot!

Hey! I love Carnival cruises! My FH and I are doing one for our honeymoon this December!

My parents took the exact same cruise you are doing for their anniversary in August. They recommend snorkeling in Cozumel, here. It's cheaper than with Carnival, even for the taxi to and from the pickup location, and it had amazing food apparently (best Pina Colada my dad has ever had)! They had no problem getting to and from, and were back in plenty of time to shop in Cozumel and get back on the boat.

They mentioned being slightly disappointed in Key West, but that was because they were there early in the morning (off the boat at 9 am) and nothing much happens until after noon.

    So happy for you!

Hi Farrah! Congrats on your honeymoon plans! Your Carnival Cruise sounds absolutely lovely! Smiley heart It will be here before you know it!

I have been to Key West and it is a great destination! Smiley heart From water sports like parasailing & jet skiing rentals, to beautiful beaches to relax (I recommend Fort Zachary Taylor beach, the water is so clear and it's honestly gorgeous). There's great food, a charming downtown area, and an awesome night-life scene, too. Honestly, something for everyone! Smiley heart And of course, you gotta try the Key Lime pie!

Do you know how long you will be stopped at Key West?
