card box DIY

I don't have a pic because this was at a friends wedding but....

Take three boxes of different sizes and wrap them in fabric (so they look like wrapped gifts) stack them one on top of the other and secure them together and the cards go in the middle box.

They are not very hard. Type in DIY card box in google search. I made mine also and it was very easy. I will try to post a pic when I get home this evening.

This is mine. As Amanda said to do, I cut holes in the middle of each box all the way to the bottom tier, wrapped each piece separately in fabric, then glued them together. I also went a little a-wall with pearls and stuff but that's beside the point. LOL.

Me and FH are kinda disney/pixar nerds.. So we without having a full Disney themed wedding, we decided to put little recognizable things from our favorite movies in our wedding. Our card box is actually a mailbox, like from up. I don't have a picture though. I finished it this weekend!

I decided that it was too much work to line up holes all the way down 3 boxes, so I just used the bottom one.

I used old sheet music and mod podge'd it to craft boxes like these:

Now I use my boxes to store Christmas and Birthday Cards, as well as notes and my paper collection

Well my venue provides a cage of sorts for the cards but now I want to make one!! just great! lol

I love all these card boxes but when my grandfather was alive he made a wishing well for cards that many people in my family have used and I would like to use that and I can decorate it however I want ... I will probably be in a panic on here next year sometime asking for ideas on how to decorate the well LOL

Katie - I plan on making my own also, but I have heard that you may want to make it two or three "tier". Terrible to say this, but it makes it harder to steal if it's big!

Lisa, I bought paper mache' boxes from Jo-Anns. They were on clearance at the time and I paid around $8 for all three boxes. Michaels, and Meijers has them too...
