Candy Bars!

I am doing one.

I based my calculations on 1/2 lb of candy per guest. 100 guests = 50 lbs of candy. This takes into account that some people might take more, less, or none at all.

They can get really pricey, really fast but alot of the bulk candy stores online always have promotions going on.

We are doing one

On bags, glassware and candy, we have spent about $220. We got all our glassware at HomeGoods, Amazon.com, and the dollarstore. We got celophane bags and some 2 inch circle kraft stickers and I made custom stickers. We got an assortment of candies and stocked up after holidays when there were sales as well as at costco!

I should add- we are having about 200 guests, and I did not estimate the amount of candy we need, but we got a TON of candy. I can't imagine we will run out...

We are doing a candy bar, but haven't figured prices yet...so thank you for posting this! I do know we will probably get the glassware/containers from Ross. We found some there before we really liked and that were inexpensive. As for the candy there's a candy store here in the mall that has decent prices for bulk candy...I just need to figure the amounts up lol

I'm doing one as well. I have the different shaped/size glassware (thanks to my FSIL who is also a wedding planner) and we will just buy the candy in bulk either on-line or at Sam's and/or Costco.

I love the idea... however, we have a LOT of diabetics coming. Out of my moms 7 siblings that are still alive ALL of them are diabetic including my mom! Most of their kids are as well! I thought about doing a candle bar instead. I seen it on four weddings. You get a bunch of scented wax beads and your guests can mix in their own scents. I have yet to find the "wax beads" though!

I forgot to include the price. For about 120 people, I have spent maybe around $100 on jars, (check dollar stores and craft stores, (especially because craft stores put out 50% off coupons every week or so)). For candy Its going to cost around $500-$550. So total, around $650 or so.

I love the idea of having candy bars!! You can get a custom designed wrapped that says your names and wedding dates!!

We are doing a trail mix bar. Which is probably more expensive than candy because the high prices of nuts; I think the total will be around $800 for 100 people. Instead of bags, we got mason jars for everyone to fill up, which added to the cost. But I am so excited to see how it turns out. These are going to be our favors so I think its worth it.

We are having a candy buffet. I got jars off of craigslist and I plan to decorate them like the candles and centerpieces with lace and ribbon. I am using bulk candy from Sams. I priced out some of the personalized candy and was shocked at the cost. I refuse to pay the prices of personalized M & Ms etc.

I'd say we're spending less than $200 for 75 guests. I'm re-purposing some jars i had and bought others at the dollar store. We're getting bulk candy from an online website to match our colors, but about $30 will be shipping and handling as we're paying extra to ice wrap them so they arrive in one piece in this heat.

I did the m&m with a picture of my fiance and Ion half and are names on others and I put them in a heart shaped jar. I got a good deal on the m&m from Groupon so I paid 60 dollars and got 60 worth of free m&m so my total out of pocket was 60 dollars for 120 dollars worth of m&m's

For candy I have the following in either red or blue: fresh salt water taffy, malted milk balls, York peppermint pieces, Lindt truffles, 2 dozen cupcakes, gummy sharks, jelly belly jelly beans.

I have roughly 50 pounds of candy which was around $450
