Bucks/Montgomery Wedding Venue

Private User, on May 27, 2015 at 8:20 AM Posted in Planning 0 11

I live near Chalfont, PA and am looking for a wedding venue for about 100 people. I would really like a venue that is on the water and where guests can stay overnight. I looked at the Centre Bridge Inn in New Hope. It does meet my qualifications, but I have some concerns over reviews I read. Has anyone had their wedding there? How was it? Does anyone have other venue recommendations? The Black Bass Inn is too small and from what I read the Lake House Inn in Perkasie is way out of our budget.

Yes, I heard the Lake House Inn was over our former neighbor's budget, too. We used ,http://partyspace.com/philadelphia for the suburban Philadelphia area. My Mom made a lot of calls, I looked at a lot of photos online, and we ended up only having to tour one venue.

P.S. The Joseph Ambler Inn, Montgomeryville has overnight rooms and is in a beautiful setting; however, it's not on the water.

Heather have you gone to see Centre Bridge Inn yet? I was looking for everything you are and fell madly in love with this venue. I'm getting married there in 2 weeks. Don't let a few stupid reviews keep you. Yes it's an old venue but you won't find anything else like it. I've even asked the staff about the bad reviews and you just never know what other people are like or what family dynamics are like. I would go look before you cross it off.

Yes, I did go to Centre Bridge twice. I love that you can get married outside overlooking the water. I also loved the downstairs and bar. Were you able to sample some of the food? I haven't done that yet. I saw in some of the reviews that people had to wait a long time to get their food. That makes me a little nervous. It is a beautiful location for sure. What did the staff say about the bad reviews?

When I was planning to be married in PA I was considering the Corinthian Yacht Club and also The Manor House in Horsham.

Have you considered Riverside Ballroom at the Lambertville Station Inn? It's in NJ across the river from New Hope. It meets your criteria of having rooms and being right on the water ... Also, Nostalgia in Chalfont has a lovely garden with a pond and ceremony area ... Sand Castle Winery has sweeping hilltop views, and I believe there is a B & B on the grounds there too. Good luck with your wedding planning!

I did look at LambertVille Station, but it is out of our budget. It is beautiful though and exactly what we are looking for. I couldn't find a working website for Nostalgia.

We only had done a driveby. We ended up wth a guest list of 250, so it would have been too small.

You should definitely look on partyspace.com for venue help. There are tons of search criteria to use to find the perfect place. I would also look specifically at Jeffery Miller Catering sites. Te Michener Art Museum, and Aldie Mansion are located in Bucks County and absolutely gorgeous sites. Good luck!

I am getting married in October at one of Jeffrey A Miller (JAM) Catering’s other venues – the Anthony Wayne House in Chester County. Definitely check them out at http://jamcater.com/ and on Party Space. They have venues other than the Lake House Inn if you are open to not getting married right on the water. My fiancé and I had gone to a JAM wedding at the Tyler Arboretum a couple of years ago and loved the food, so that was a big factor in deciding to go with them. Everything is farm-to-table fresh and they have SO MANY options – especially for cocktail hour! Even though my venue isn’t overlooking the water, I feel it has a ton of special elements that I couldn’t get with other caterers or at other venues – mason jar lights that line our clear tent, farmhouse tables for the reception, fire pit for smores. I feel they infuse a lot of charm into their weddings. Maybe worth a look!
