Shop like it is their birthday! You can make the gifts personalized to each BM.

What are their tastes/interests? You know them, we don't.

Do a search. This question has been posted at least 10 times in the last 2 days.

Anything they are expected to wear/use for your wedding is not a gift.

Buy them each one thoughtful gift chosen especially for them, not 6 of something because you get a discount on a volume purchase.

Don't buy anything with 'Bridesmaid" on it. Don't fill up a bag with items from the dollar store like koozies, candles, lip balms etc. They are adults and likely have their favorite brands. More is not more.

I too am staying away from "bridesmaid" related stuff. They are cute but they aren't always going to be a bridesmaid...I just can't imagine my best friend, FSIL or cousin carrying around a "bridesmaid" tote or drinking out of a "bridesmaid" glass forever.

I'm also not including anything I buy for them to wear in the wedding as a gift. I was part of a wedding party where all the bride did was buy our earrings and heels for the wedding. Now I have some huge earrings I can't even wear and a pair of hot pink heels that broke the day of and there's no way I'm breaking my ankle to wear them again.

What I am doing is getting them a bag full of my favorite things to pamper myself with. Stuff they will like too, because we're all a lot alike...Bath bombs, lip butters, that sort of thing. I'm probably going to get them some of my favorite food too.

I think a perfect Spa gift card is a nice idea especially if you became Bridezilla. This will allow them to go get themselves a nice relaxing massage after the big day is over.

A girl's group spa day would be a great treat! I actually bought my bridesmaids their accessories. Everyone had something different ( i based it on their style) - got everything at www.Bridalvaganza.com

I received a monogrammed makeup travel bag. I love it and use it all the time! Also included was a compact mirror and a few small items from Sephora.

I don't like personalized glasses. They're cute for one photo and eventually get put in a random cabinet taking up space

I just bought each of them a purse during kate spade's awesome Memorial Day sale! I picked one based on their style, all my bm's love Kate spade like me and I'm so excited to give it to them. So I definitely echo what others have said, shop like it's their birthday!

Please, for the love of God, no bridesmaid-ish gifts, nothing you are requiring them to wear, no frames, candles, bubblebath or other generic gifts. No compilation gifts of 10 little things. Get them each 1 significant, individual gift that they would want. If they are close enough to you to be in your bridal party, you should know enough about them to know what they would want/like.

    @Danielle - good job!

@Ericka - please don't buy them your favorite things. Buy them their favorite things. You're not Oprah.

ETA: I suggest spending at least $100 each.

When I was a bridesmaid I appreciated all my gifts, but my favorites were my Kendra Scott earrings and monogrammed totes. I could wear them even after the wedding! I wasn't too particular about the robes/shirts/cups/bags/anything that had BRIDESMAID written on it.

I'm getting my bridesmaids Tiffanys necklaces with their first initial on the charm. They're not required to wear them to the wedding, but they can if they want.

I'm doing a little DIY and making dainty necklaces with their names in metal letters. I only have a MOH and 2 other BMs, so I'm going to personalize each gift box (none of it is required to use for the wedding). I'm getting things such as fancy clear nail polish (Seche Vite--the best! and anyone can use it), scented candles, bath bombs, watercolor markers (one is an artist), mini lip glosses, organic tea leaves, local honey, animal stickers, cozy socks, cute journals, champagne splits. It really depends on what your BMs like!

Shops that were helpful to me were Lush Cosmetics, Sephora (their minis section!), Etsy, Amazon, TJ Maxx, even Ross.

ETA: Adding a handwritten, personal note for each BM is a really lovely touch as well. I'm getting handmade cards from Etsy for these.

Personally, I know myself and I will never use anything monogrammed or that says my name or has cheesy sayings on it. So, I tried to avoid giving gifts of the same manner to my girls. I would rather get something small and cute and practical (and cheap even!!!) as long as I know I'll use it again/wear it again etc etc. Just my opinion !

ETA: my cousin who I was a bridesmaid for personally wrote each of us a letter along with our gifts and I probably will do the same because it's a sweet memento and personal touch that is sentimental and super nice !

The last wedding I was in, the bride required us to get our hair and makeup done which cost around $100 that we paid and then she gave us a monogrammed bag full of gifts that added up to about $100. I would have rather she paid for my hair and makeup since I never use the gifts she gave me!

I know people will say don't get something that pertains to wedding or that's required well first of all I am not requiring hair and makeup I consider it a luxury and had asked them if they were getting it done and they all are. What s nice surprise it'll be to have it paid for.
