Bridesmaid dresses-timeline

Hello ladies! I have an odd dilemma that I need some input on. We are getting married on 1/25/20. My MOH lives abroad right now and won’t be home until July. I wanted all of the BM’s to go shopping together, as did they, however the bridal shop and I are concerned that if we wait until mid July to order all dresses, it may be a little late. What would you all recommend? Going with all of the girls in July? Or going with the rest of them in May/June and then again with my MOH in July?
Thank you!

I don't see why they wouldn't get them in time if ordered in July, unless its a certain designer that will take longer. If that is indeed the case, I think it is fine to go with all the other bridesmaids in May or June and then your MOH in July. Worst case scenario is that your MOH can't get the same dress or same designer, but a lot of people are having their MOH in a different dress anyways Smiley smile

That's what I was thinking! I'd take the other girls earlier, then gonwith the MOH later. I personally think her dress should stand out anyway!

I’m considering sequin dresses by sorella vita so I’m not sure on their shipping time...or if I could even pay for a rush shipment.

Actually, ordering in July is early. August and September are fine. Dresses for bridesmaids generally come in 2-8 after ordering, very occasional 10. So 4 months time is plenty. Ordering early for some, or all, can be a mistake. If just a few order real early, there may not be the same dresses available for others later. The best selection for the winter season will be in stores late August through January. Also, if you order much before 4 months, and anyone gains or loses two sizes, or gets pregnant, it may be $250 in alterations for a 100-$250 dress. Bridesmaids usually get pretty angry if brides push them to order before the usual necessary 4 months or less, and do not want to pay a huge alteration bill, or get a second dress, which would not ever have happened if they were fit for dresses at 3-4 months out. Companies like advance orders for their sake. But ones like Davids tell you allow in five months, if you ask way ahead. But fill orders still only 6 weeks before the wedding. Because most of their dresses, without extra fees, come in in 2-4 weeks. So do not worry about your friend being away, as she will be back in plenty of time.

My wedding is in August and my Matron of Honor isn't ordering her dress until the middle of May so she can be home when it arrives. 6 months is plenty of time to order and get them in. Most arrive in about 6 weeks!

July should be fine for everyone to go! All My girls ordered their dresses in the beginning of Dec and all dresses were in by beginning of Feb!

Bridesmaids dresses don't usually take that long. I was quoted 6 to 8 weeks from 3 different shops, so I'm going to wait as long as I can, to give my girls plenty of time to afford it.

The only way I can see them taking longer than that is if you are going with a particular designer, whose dresses generally take longer. Otherwise, July should be more than enough time. I would wait and do it all together, if that's what everyone wants.
