Bridesmaid dresses make me BONKERS!

Ariel, on April 3, 2017 at 7:39 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 22

Hey! My name is Ariel and I am engaged to my best friend, Chris. Our wedding is going to be on August 5, 2017. We live in NC, and most of my bridesmaids live in various places in GA (where we grew up)! I think the easiest way to get dressed for my maids will be online, since us all meeting in person is a small chance. I have 6 girls, and am looking for a long dress with straps (per their requests). The sizes range from 0 to 22, And I'm looking for kind of a dusty pink color. We would like to keep it under $120 for each. I would love recommendations for the best places to order online! Thank you in advance!

I went with my MOH to JCPenny and we bought her dress. I then told my BM (who lives in a diff state) about JCPenny and the sale on dresses. I sent her the pic of what the MOH will be wearing and she bought the same dress Smiley smile

There are lots of options out there for buying dresses online. Dessy, Davids Bridal, Weddington Way, BHLDN, Alfred Angelo, and Azazie are just a few.

When you get a chance, it would be great if you would update your avatar so everyone can begin to recognize you. I'm posting instructions below, but if you need help, you can post a picture in my *CLICK HERE* for Avatar Help! thread or email a picture to community@weddingwire.com, and we'll be happy to update it for you.

I went with Kennedy Blue because my bridesmaids are all over the place too! They let you order up to 3 dresses at a time to try on at home so you can see what they look like before you buy, and you can also order color swatches. My bridesmaids loved the flexibility of it all.

I haven't picked BM dresses either, but I do know that Azaize has the dusty rose color, and you can order a swatch for $2, which comes with all the different materials they have in that color. I just got the swatches I ordered from them Smiley smile

My BMs also ranged in size and all live in different states. We got our dresses from eshakti. They can make a garment custom to your measurements, so no alterations needed. I just gave them the color and hem length and they picked the rest for their personal style. (ETA: all dresses under $75)

Oh, eshakti!!! We've looked at some expensive places (only BM is my sister as MOH, and I told her I'd buy her just about anything she wants) and even ordered some dresses from David's to try. But after all that, we're probably just going with eshakti. Neither of us has ever been disappointed by any of the dozens of dresses we've ordered from them. And their return policy is WAY better than Davids.

And in case anyone else has a foreign resident BM, BHLDN will ship overseas for only $40 (for BM dresses, wedding gowns are more) - I actually ordered a BHLDN bridesmaid dress as my wedding gown.

Lulu's! 2 of my BM's got theirs there for about $85 and $120. They also have super cute dresses for you for bridal shower, rehearsal, etc.

I had the same problem. Lulus is so great but only goes up to size 8 from the options I noticed. I decided to do some girls in lulus and some in davids bridal (sale goes through today). I looked at thousands of dresses and couldn't find the right one for size, budget, and overall quality of the look. I had to just pick two dresses in the same color to end my misery. So stressful! Good luck!

Another suggestion would be to use a place like Bella Bridesmaids. Find a store near you (Charlotte or Raleigh), go in and try on some of the dresses yourself, then jot down the dresses you like, and have the girls go to store (Atlanta) and try them on. This gives you the flexibility of not all having to get together, but they will still be able to try on the dresses, which I think is especially important given the different body types
