Bridal Shower Rsvps

Sara, on April 22, 2019 at 10:32 AM Posted in Planning 0 11
So my bridal shower is May 25th. The RSVP deadline is April 26th. So far we only have 5 RSVPs. I know we still have a few more days, but I’m a little worried that only 5 will show. Did you reach out to your guests to confirm?

I would wait until your deadline passes and then begin reaching out to those who haven't RSVP'd

I would have the hostess reach out after the deadline.

My MOH reached out to anyone she didn't hear from after the RSVP date passed.

I would reach out to the remaining people who haven't RSVPed, but not until after April 26.

The hostess should reach out. Mine did a quick Facebook message after the deadline and got tons of "oh I forgot to tell you but I'll definitely be there."

That's a fairly early RSVP, compounded by a holiday weekend for the event. People may still be making plans and not sure.

My sister sent out a text to our side of the family and friends and my future MIL sent out a text to their side about 3 days after the deadline. I'm sure people just forgot to RSVP.

May 25th might be hard to plan that early for some! My shower only had a week before RSVP deadline. But where I’m from high schools all around have graduation the 24th and then all their parties are the 25th, might have a few waiting to hear times of those?

As above, there are lots of graduations, work retirements, work wedding and baby showers as well as wedding and baby showers, in May, one of the busiest times of the year. For an informal party like a shower, notice is usually 2-3 weeks, not a month, and many will miss the date thinking, I will mail it back in 2nd week of May. So hostess, never the bride, calls to confirm.

I feel like that's an early date to have the deadline. Unless the place you're having it requires a certain amount of time for the guest list to be handed in. But, whenever you're comfortable, I would have the host(s) reach out.
