My mom is part of a group called "The Porch Ladies" -- self named by the fact that they sit on the porch once a week and drink wine, catch up, and talk about life. As their kids have gotten older, they throw showers for engaged couples. Just something small with the porch ladies, and the families of the engaged couple. Tonight was our turn and it was a blast! The weather couldn't have been more perfect.
The way the shower goes is the couple is given a book with 5 recipes (one from each "lady") and a wine pairing. Then they bring out the 'dish' and wine pairing from each recipe until you circle through them all. Everything was delicious because they're all great cooks and have great taste in wine. I've grown up with them so it was great to catch up, laugh, and they shared bits of wedding wisdom.
At the end of the night, the couple is given a bottle of each of the wines that we're paired, the cookbook, and a little something form their registry. On to the pictures
