Are you doing this with your favors?

May2010Bride, on February 6, 2010 at 9:16 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

Putting a tag/ribbon with either your names/date or a "thank you for coming" thing? I was just going to do my favors today and we don't have any ribbon with our names and I think a thank you tag attached would look odd. My FH told me that we can just have the DJ announce that the candles on the tables are our favors and for everyone to take one. Just wondering if it's still more traditional to have a thanks or name/date to let folks KNOW they are the favors.

I usally see some sort of tag or sticker, but if it doesn't look good, then don't put it on, have the DJ/MC announce that those are the favors, or better yet, during your guys speach while thanking everyone for coming, the candles on tha table are our thanks to you for making time to come to the wedding, help your self to one.

I like mrs schmidt idea about telling everyone during the speach and it will save you the cost of going and buys that ribbon

I am putting ribbon around mine and I found at Michael's packs of little silver metal thank you tags for on the ribbon. Like $4 for 20.

Well we are doing a candy buffet as our favors. I made labels with our names/date and a thank you message to attach to the candy bags.

I don't think you need to have ribbon with your names on it. Were you planning to just sit the candles on the table or are you wrapping them at all or what?

I think most people will probably know they're favors. But just in case they don't, you can do like the other ladies said and either have the DJ announce it or mention it in your speeches.

The goal was to put them at the table...I have enough for each adult attending so a couple will have a matching pair of candles. The color of the wax is red and then I am putting a wide silver ribbon that more or less covers the whole holder from top to bottom and then a thinner ribbon of black on the top of that around the middle. So they will be contemporary and sharp looking (or at least that is the idea).

I plan on making tags for my favors. I am not getting ribbon with our names.

With my budget I will do tags with our names and date, I figure they will throw it away anyway and it'd be a waste to buy ribbon that would be thrown away (i'm doing a candy buffet as well) I think ribbon is so dang cute especially with the imprinted names on them!

Ours will just have a wax seal with our last name. I don't think it is necessary but I would mention them in a speach and maybe even remind some when they leave.
