Anyone know a good seamtress

The Future Nickey Q, on October 27, 2011 at 4:44 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

Ok, so I know this may be an awful idea but I need a seamstress. I have my dress and I love it minus the top of it. I want to alter it because my fiance expressed to me that he would really like to see me in a sweet heart top. It is also really what I wanted. Also I was wondering if it would be better to also have it altered to have the corset back (because my dress is a strapless and I am afraid that it will fall down). Now I know you are probably going to say that I shouldn't have gotten this one if it wasn't everything that I wanted but I put it on and that was all she wrote LOL. That was what I had originally set out to get but I fell in love with my dress. Anyway can anyone help me??

I'm not anywhere near enough to tell you a good seamstress, but I'll encourage you to do it. I don't think it's blasphemy to altar your dress.

I do have advice about the corset back, it isn't necessary to change it to that as long as it fits you properly. Strapless dresses are held up by your ribcage. Some women think it's the girls that keep them up, but it's not Smiley winking It can fit perfect in the chest and along the top, but if it isn't perfect along the rib area it will slip. Even a corset back if it does not fit properly and/or is not tightened properly will still slip. A friend of mine had a corset back, and this happened to her. When I asked the seamstress at my dress fitting she told me about the ribcage thing. She told me it doesn't matter if the back is corset, zipper, or button if it doesn't fit right in the crucial areas it will slip down.

Thank you so very much it fits but I was just worrying about that part. I didn't want to have any issues when that day comes.
