Anniversary Song Suggestions

southerngirl, on September 29, 2009 at 3:54 PM Posted in Planning 0 25

Instead of a bouquet/garter toss we are going to do an 'anniversary dance' to give away my bouquet to the longest married couple. I need song suggestions.

I appreciate country music but my FH doesn't...I like the Lucky suggestion though. We used that song on one of the pages of our wedding website. Is 3:23 minutes long enough? Have people down every 30 seconds--less than one

There are quite a few versions of this song, I like the one by Marc Broussard "Nothing Fancy" it is a beautiful song, and not a super popular one. Or try Parachute Band "she is love"

Another good idea, since it will probably end up being someone a little older is Elvis "Can't help falling in love with you"

    I often use:

Lee Ann Womack "I Hope You Dance"

    Kenny Rogers "Through the Years"

Anne Murray "Can I Have This Dance"

I agree that "Have You Told You Lately" is another excellent choice.

Generally, when picking a song for the Anniversary Dance, don't think so much of a song you and your fiance like -- think of a song that would enjoyed by folks much older than you, since it's the ones who've been married 20, 30, 40 years that will be on the dance floor the longest during the Anniversary Dance

We are using 'Two People Fell In Love' by Brad Paisley but since you said your FH doesn't like country I guess that may not work for you.

"Then" by Brad Paisley is the perfect anniversary song. I also like "All The Things We've Never Done" by Martina McBride.

I know you said you don't like country, so these might not work for you, but they are the two that came to mind.

I'm partial to the Adam Sandler "I wanna grow old with you" It's such a sweet song that is so appropriate since it's about being together into old age.
