A dress eludes me.......

I have ordered 3 dresses so far....none of which fit. However, 2 came from on-line stores,so there was no opportunity to try anything on prior to ordering. The most recent dress was ordered from David's Bridal. I made an appointment at the store, tried on several dresses till I found the one I wanted. Ordered the same size I'd tried on at the store, but in a different color, only to have it delivered yesterday and it doesn't fit. It's about 4" too small thru the bust and 6" too long. The length can be fixed, but can't do anything about the bust, so am returning yet another dress.

I am so frustrated right now! My wedding is just 5 weeks away and I've got NOTHING to wear!

Ideas anyone??

Yikes! You could always spend a day and go back to DB or any other bridal salon and look through their dresses. You may be able to find one you love off the rack with minimal alterations needed.

Am thinking another Bridal Salon....DB is very anxious to sell you a dress, but am finding their customer support to be less than helpful. To add another kink in the chain, I've planned everything around a Navy and Silver theme. The bridesmaids dresses are Navy, the Groom and groomsmen are wearing grey tuxes with navy ties and vests. All the decorations have been ordered in silver and navy...I want a silver or dove grey dress. Am more than willing to wear an evening gown rather than a wedding gown, but even those are difficult to find. Don't want a slutty dress and also don't want to look like my grandma. Have already tried on everything at DB. They don't have anything in the color I want at any local stores...there are 2 in the Indianapolis area.

Try Dillards or other dept. stores.

That's a good idea. I've tried Macy's, Penney's and Von Maur stores....but haven't tried Dillards or Carson's yet, I so loved the dress at DB....it made me feel like a bride! Am going to have to get over it tho and get shopping.

Also try Nordstrom. They have a pretty extensive online Wedding Shop. You will probably have the best luck finding the color you are looking for in the BM section.
