2 Maid of Honors?

Staci, on October 5, 2013 at 3:33 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 18

So after dress shopping yesterday with one of my bridesmaids I realized how well she knows my taste and how much of an amazing friend she is and that I would love to have her as a MOH but I have already chosen one. The problem with the MOH I chose is that she lives out of town and has 2 jobs and a child to take care of. Is it normal to choose 2 MOH's? Also I only have 4 bridesmaids all together so will 2 MOH's and 2 Bridesmaids seam strange?

You can have whatever you want! I am having a Maid of Honor and a Matron of Honor. With 5 bridesmaids total. One being a Jr. Bridesmaid and walking down the aisle, alone. If you want 2 Maids of Honor, do it!

I agree do what you want. I had both a maid and matron of honor.

I am one of 2 BM in a wedding, cuz I live here and her sister lives an ocean away and it's working great!

I can organize the party details easier from here and she can gather things from her home state that are hard to find here

It is! granted we're both easy-going people so there's no ego or control issues (suss that out first!) but basically we split the duties! I'm doing the bridal shower and she is getting the decor and party supplies for the after party and reception that otherwise would have to be shipped in $$$

neither of us have the $$ for all of it so we liked being able to split things.

I have a Maid and a Matron of Honor. I see no issue with it, if they get along. Since you already asked your one MOH I might run it past her before asking the second, but that's just me.

I have two maids of honor as well - my little sister and my best friend. I am having two bridesmaids in addition to these for a total of four girls.

I asked my original MOH first and she thinks that I should go for it and do whatever my heart desires and so I did. I now have two maid of honors and I am excited for it! They are both easy to get along with, both know my taste so well, and they respect my decisions and always support them. Smiley smile

I was going to, but then one told me how stressful it was being the MOH in someone else's wedding, and I was like oh, uhm, ok nevermind then. Haha. But yeah, I think it's totally fine.

I chose not to have a MOH. I have 2 sisters and 2 cousins that will be in my wedding and I love them all equally so I felt strange trying to chose a MOH.

I'm having My amazing Sister be my Maid of Honor and my Gay BFF as My Man of Honor, I will also only be having 4 bridesmaids and I think it's perfectly fine, it's supposed to be all about the people you love and who love you that much back. I think you should ask her! It'll be great!

I'm going to be asking my sister and my sister-in-law to be my matrons of honor. I wouldn't be able to just pick one, they're both my sisters. They both live in different states than I do, my sister has a child and my sister-in-law is pregnant in the military. So there won't be too much help from them, I just want them standing with me.

My sister refuses to be a maid of honor, which I understand since she is only 18, so I chose my two closest friends. I just hope my 4th bridesmaid doesn't feel upset or left out since I have known her the longest and we practically grew up together but I simply feel like we have grown a bit distant and she doesn't really know my taste/style like my 2 MOH's do.
