Discontinued Pronovias styles - where to find??

Miriam, on November 1, 2021 at 11:09 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
Ladies! I have fallen for two different Pronovias style dresses that are unfortunately discontinued. Any tips (beyond Google or StillWhite) of where to find/order old styles? Location not an issue - happy to order online or remotely. Thanks in advance!

If you share the style number and pictures of the dresses, someone may be able to help locate them Smiley smile

You may be able to find discontinued styles on sites like Poshmark or preOwnedweddingdresses.com

I also wanted a discontinued dress. I found a diamond retailer of the designer and they were able to call the designer and luckily they had 2 dresses left. I had to pay $50 to have the dress shipped to the store but that went towards my purchase. I hope this helps

I worked in bridal for three years, and my wedding gown wound up being a discontinued style. If you post the style numbers, it should be possible to figure out when the gowns were discontinued. As some other commenters have mentioned, sometimes the dress company will still be finishing selling their back stock, and many many boutiques hold on to discontinued styles to sell at half price- if the dresses were recently discontinued, some stores may still have their sample that they'd be willing to sell you- that's how I got my gown! Let me know if you have any questions or if you'd like me to do some digging with style numbers.

Thank you so much for your brilliant suggestions! What a great community support network. Have called a bunch of stores with no luck so far. The two dresses are….

    2. Pronovias Hechizo (from 2019 collection)

Looking for either in a bridal size 16 / 18 / 20 (but will make anything work with alterations)!

The names and pictures a sufficient! If you comfortable letting me know your measurements I can also compare with a size chart if you're looking at any pre-owned websites!

This store in Florida still has a link to contact for ordering Moon Dance. Since Moon Dance only came out a year ago, and since one-shoulder is not a popular a pick (it's an absolutely gorgeous gown, but not something that everyone would go for) I there's actually a pretty good chance of the company still having it in stock. I would call whatever store is closest to you that carries Pronovias and ask them to check. Hechizo could be a little harder to track down; it seems like there's a few available to sale on Stillwhite or other preowned websites, but I know the sizing there can be tricky. I'm trying to find out exactly when it was discontinued; that'll likely affect whether or not Pronovias still has any back stock of it.

    A few things...

Search all of the consignment sites. StillWhite, Poshmark, Mercari, Tradesy, The Real Real, PreownedWeddingDresses.com, etc. Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and eBay too! Search these pages frequently, as new listings pop up all the time. You might strike out on StillWhite every week for months at a time and then one day three of the dresses you are looking for will pop up.

Use search terms that describe the dress (not just the name and style). When brides or thrifters resell things they don't always use the same description as retail sites do. So attempt your best at describing the dress by material, silhouette, neckline, sleeves, etc and see what pops up.

Do a reverse image search on Google and also search Google images, not just the "webpage" function. I found some dresses on consignment sites via image search that were not otherwise showing up in the page listing, even when the keywords were very similar.

Depending on the dress material, cut, and design and your access to a tailor, consider searching different sizes or being open to different sizes. Sometimes resellers will omit a "size" listing if the dress has been altered or customized, so you might miss a dress that will fit you if you are searching for a size 6 and someone has a dress listed with custom measurements of 35-29-37 or something like that (close to a street size 6 but not exact). Additionally designer sizes and street sizes don't always match up, and most dresses can be sized down 1-2 sizes if needed without any major issues.
