Is there a reason why his family members don't want to attend? Did you have a restricted wedding list? Are they permitted to attend the courthouse as well? I'm so sorry to hear about this. How many of your family is going compared to his? I'd say whoever shows up to your wedding is still a beautiful blessing.

Courthouse has restriction on the number of people. Our parents are the only ones able to come in. I have like 15 people coming on my side and he has 2 person which is his mom and his moms boyfriend. That’s it. Dad is out of town for business.

Oh, I see. I am really sorry about the unfortunate turn out on his side. But take a look at it from another angle. You're getting married to the love of your life. And whoever doesn't come, that's on them. He has his mom there, which will be an absolute blessing. You'll have a lovely dinner as well with those who cared enough to show up. Are you planning on going on a honeymoon?

I would feel disappointed too! At the end of the day, you and FH will be married, which is all that matters

I'm so sorry you have to deal with this shortly before your special day. If they don't want to come and celebrate, that is on them! You worry about yourself and your fiance! It's yours and his special day, not theirs! If they're going to be petty, let them be. It shows their character, not yours. Enjoy your special day lovely and don't let anyone bring you down!

We are getting married the in court too, and only my mother and our kids are coming... we are going to have a “big wedding” in a year for all our family to come. So, FH is kinda sad too his mom can’t be there, but she already feels like we are married so it’s a little easier. Congrats on the babe!! Everything will be okay just enjoy your day, no matter who is there. It’s about the two of you, nobody else .

People who matter won’t mind and the people that mind don’t matter. It’s cheesy, and I don’t know how much it will help your FH but it’s true. I don’t know why his family have decided not to come, but that says more about them than about you guys. I know it sucks to have your family missing, but now he knows who he can count on and who he can’t.
