Disappointed rsvp No’s

Sara, on June 20, 2019 at 11:24 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 11
Is there anyone who RSVP’d “no” to your wedding that you absolutely wanted there to celebrate with?

There are a few that I have, and it’s kind of disappointing, but I understand that people have their own lives.

Yes. Maybe they can celebrate with you at other wedding events. One of my friends I wanted there couldn't come but she was able to make it to my bachelorette

My FH has been talking to his best friend about the wedding already, even though the wedding is over a year away, because he lives in South Korea. It doesn’t sound like he’s going to be able to come, but I really hope he can because I know my FH will be really upset if he doesn’t make it. We’re hoping since we’ve given him so much notice he can find a way. He also has family local because he grew up here, and he hasn’t been home in over 5 years so 🤞🏻. If he can’t afford it though, he can’t.

Yes! My aunt and her son aren’t coming because she is supposed to ask off work 2 months or more in advance. She was assuming the wedding would be in October, and even though she found out it would be August back in May, she won’t readjust her schedule in case it messes up other people. I get it, but it still sucks.

My uncle and and his daughter aren’t coming due to finances. That sucks too but again is understandable.

Kind of. My godson & his brother were originally supposed to be in the wedding (it’s adult only w/ the only kids at the wedding are part of the wedding & I really wanted them at the wedding). I spoke to my friend & told her that I really want them at the wedding & the only way it was going to happen is if they are in the wedding. Despite a recent argument between us, she agreed that they can be in the wedding. My friend will be at the wedding but not in the wedding. It’s a compromise but better than nothing.

Yes, I have 2 on my VIP list, my cousin that I am very close with, and my best friend. Both are out of the country. They have not RSVP'ed yet, but I know it will not be easy for them to come so I don't want to keep my hopes up. My best friend has already told me that she is having a hard time asking her work for time off, but is doing her best. I am still praying they both make it.

It’s still up in the air whether or not my one aunt will be coming, but I kind of doubt it, and it makes me sad. I really want her to be there.

On on the flip side, there are several people who I thought wouldn’t be coming who have told me there are, so there’s that to be grateful for.

Yes. I remember our first "no" RSVP. It made me sad, because it was someone I didn't expect to say no.

Yes! My friend that I used to work with. She moved a few hours away and I haven't seen her in a couple of years. She just told me yesterday that she got a promotion at work and can't get the time off now. ☹️

Yea my fiance's best friend is supposed to go back to his country and he isn't sure he'll get a visa in time to come back for it. We're pretty sad about him leaving overall.

We had a few. We anticipated around 150 guests but are having closer to 120. There were a few that hurt, but in the end everyone who matters is attending & supporting us!

My fiancé's grandmother may not be able to make it, but she's still on the fence for now. She's into her 80s and a 6-hour flight from San Diego to Baltimore may not be a good idea. We told her not to stress, we'll take lots of videos and pictures for you. We also plan on making a Shutterfly book for her once professional photos come back.
