Dinner4Two SCAM!

PerfectlyPolin, on December 7, 2016 at 7:43 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 18

I met them at a WeddingExpo and went to their culinary presentation. The sales representative was a fast talking funny guy who told us how this cookware (Kitchen Charm) would cut our time in the kitchen and how they have a lifetime warranty so we will never have to buy more. Sounds great right? Not! I used it twice and first my chicken was raw and the second time it was overcooked and now my pan is discolored! I contacted the sales rep and he told me someone would be in contact. Over a week later I contact him again and tell him how frustrated I am that no one has called me. I then get a call saying there was a 3 day return policy and they can only offer me YouTube videos on how to cook! WTF

The raw and overcooked issues have nothing to do with the pan.

I personally would have not purchased anything from a high-pressured sales person.

ETA: What do you mean by discoloring?

Cancel it on your credit card. But the pan isn't at fault for your cooking skill.

Yeah I went to a bridal expo and encountered the Dinner 4 Two people and didn't get a good vibe (seemed scammy). Glad I listened to my instincts and I'm sorry you had to deal with that nonsense!

So we did actually buy some pans from them and we LOVE them. Did you watch the video they sent that shows you how to cook with the pans? You can't use them just like any other pan out there. They NEED to be preheated first, and don't like temperatures above about a 6 out of 9 on our stove.

As for the discoloring, try using a little bit of barkeepers friend on the discolored area after washing and scrub like hell. It'll shine it right back up!

I went... saw the presentation then FH and I decided not to buy them.. $3k was a lot to spend on cookware while planning a wedding and trying to buy a house. Getting the free gifts were though!

I dont think its the pan's fault that you made raw and burnt chicken. Maybe burning the chicken led to the discoloration?

Uh. It's not the pan's fault for raw or overcooked chicken...

The pan discolored because you had the heat too high for too long. Again, barkeepers friend and some scrubbing with get rid of the discoloration and return it to that bright shining silver!

I went to a bridal show recently and visited their booth. I just received an odd text from them inviting us to come to an event at a nearby hotel to receive our "gifts". What is this "event" and will we be overly pressured into buying their products? What are the "gifts"?

I, too met this vendor at the Bridal Extravaganza in Austin. I did enter a drawing for gifts and was contacted about 5 weeks later that I had a gift package available. I did have to attend a 90 minute cooking presentation with my FH. The products are amazing. They are expensive and they offer payment plans and one time discounts at the presentation. We decided against them at this time. They come in sets and although they did offer good deals, you would still be spending about $1800 for their basic set and you could get one of 3 other cutlery packages (valued at $1095) as a bonus. With planning and paying for a wedding ourselves, we still had to allocate those funds we would spend on this cookware for our wedding or honeymoon. Perhaps another time. I would have been more receptive to buying a single pan if I was allowed to at the show. There is a website where you can look at options but I haven’t made it that far yet. He did give very good tips on healthier eating. Haven’t redeemed the gifts yet but will definitely order the rings. We don’t mind spending $50 on shipping for the set.

This is a total SCAM! Here’s what they told me when I asked what we were going to: When the couples come out we go over gifts in full detail plus our chef Chad cooks for you giving you healthy cooking tips with food to sample and going over bridal registry. Its a lot of fun and good info. No cost and only takes 1 hour. Website: www.dinner4two.com ; read main page then click Free Gifts. (1/2) Gift Pkg includes 5 gifts: 1. A hotel stay OR two wedding bands2. $50 certificate for our kitchen products3. $1000 in coupons4. FREE tuxedo trial5. Certificate for Customized Engraved Champagne Flutes
The hotel certificate is for a La Quinta Inn, he said their wedding bands aren’t popular and whatever other free stuff we were promised was garbage. All this ended up being was a ploy to by over priced cookware and I’m pissed I fell for it. I’m super busy and this wasted my time.
