Dinner Jacket???

FutureMrs2017, on June 28, 2017 at 12:22 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

Okay, so FH and I have begun searching for his wedding day attire and we came across a Kenneth Cole Dinner Jacket from Men's Wearhouse we both really like. FH would like to wear a tuxedo and when we were researching, many sites were saying that a dinner jacket and tuxedo were the same thing; is that true? If not, what are the differences?

Also, they are selling just the jacket and when I called Men's Wearhouse, they said there aren't any pants or vests that would complete the look and that we could just bring the jacket to the store to find something that matches. The jacket is only sold online. Do you think we would have trouble trying to find matching pants and a vest? Thanks in advance!

They are not the same thing, although they can be seen at the same events.

I think your best bet is to go to MW and actually shop vs trying to find things on line and try to piece a look together. You only get married once and he wants to look great too I am sure.

Agree with going to the store. With Men's Wearhouse you can return online purchases in store. Why not order the jacket and take it in with you. If you don't love it or find something else you like better, you can just leave it with them.

Essentially yes Smiley smile A dinner jacket can refer to regular tuxedos as well as contrasting tuxedo jackets, but is more frequently used when talking about a contrasting jacket. Think of tuxes with a white or burgundy jacket as an example!

I love the Kenneth Cole dinner jackets on the Men's Wearhouse website!! Which jacket are you leaning towards? And are you looking for pants and a waistcoat that match the dinner jacket, or in classic black? I was able to find just pants by searching for tuxedo separates at department stores like JC Penney!

@WWLynnie We really like the charcoal gray and black satin edged lapel. We went ahead and ordered it and can return if we don't like it in person. He wants to wear gray pants with the jacket and he likes either a matching gray or black vest, so we'll be trying to match color and fabric when it comes in the mail.

Dinner jackets and tuxedos are not the same. My fiancé is actually going to wear a dinner jacket. Check out Etsy, Sebastian Cruz and Neumann Marcus for ideas. We are going to have a tailor actually make it because the sites I listed are very expensive. Not sure what ur budget is. And it takes time to perfect that look so idk your wedding date but don’t wait until the last minute. We aren’t getting married until 7/28/19 and we have begun the process. If u need any other sites hit me up. Good luck stacey
