Dinner- duet versus single entree option

Karen, on April 13, 2018 at 9:18 PM Posted in Planning 0 16
Which option is better for the dinner menu?

1. Beef filet only with sides versus Chilean sea bass only with sides. Guests choose one.

OR

2. Everyone gets duet of half beef filet and half Chilean sea bass with sides.

I don’t like seafood but I know that’s a minority opinion (FH is allergic so it works out!)

I think I’d still rather choose my meat then be told I’m getting half of each. But others might appreciate getting both! It’s a hard choice.

I don’t like seafood. Can guests pick which one they want?

With those two choices I would go with the single entree option.

Single entree. I hate sea bass.

It’s chilean sea bass, not sea bass. Huge difference.

The single entree selection; not many like seafood.
I had 45 guests (42 day of) and only 4 picked the seafood-it was overwhelmingly the beef option picked.

Option 1. I'd rather choose which one I wanted and for people who don't like one of the options they'll still get a full meal

Definitely single entree. Let people pick their protein and get a full portion of it.

I don’t eat any seafood so I’d end up being able to eat only half the meal.

Definitely the first choice. I like seafood and I know “surf and turf” is a thing, but mixing beef and fish isn’t very appealing to me, so I’d prefer to have one instead of both. Plus, lots of people don’t even like any type of sea food so like others have said they could only eat half the meal.

Although some might love the idea of the duet, definitely give them the choice.

I would not want a duet. I don't eat red meat.

I'd rather the single option. I'm not much of a picky eater but I know a lot of people are picky about fish

I would do just the steak. Fish in large numbers does not get cooked well. I've planned several parties and this has been a consistent thing.
