Hello I attended a bridal expo yesterday, and I got a call from this company called dinner 4 two saying we won this trip or two wedding bands. I was wondering if anyone else has had this experience. I know it sounds like a scam and while doing research online, I found people who also had mixed feelings and some even had positive experiences. There is a cooking class that we have to go tomorrow where people online say that they try and sell their cooking ware. I'm just unsure whether I should get excited and believe this or not. Any advice would be appreciated.

FH and I went to the cookware show and the guy was super nice and not at all pushy or rude. Very honest and upfront about the shipping fees and cost of everything. He also disclosed the fees and cost to hold the room and transportation costs not covered. I'm curious about anyone who has experienced the vacation as well.

Can you give more details on the trip? Is it actually worth it?

SCAM! It’s a shame these reputable wedding shows allow this to be a part of their shows/ prizes. The “dinner” is not a dinner, simply chicken served on a paper plate that they cooked in a pot that they try to sell to you.
The cookware starts around 1,600 all the way up to over 5,000. The interest rate is not mentioned during the show but it’s usually around 18%. They only tell you the monthly payment amount for the package you select. You cannot return or back out if you sign up to purchase the cookware. They give a three day return policy which isn’t disclosed anywhere, I didn’t even get my cookware until over a week after the show, then I couldn’t return it or get my money back. You’d think if it’s such a good product it would have a money back guarantee. I spoke with many representatives and expressed that I was very unhappy with the agreement that said very different payment terms than what was explained at the show. This was the most devious and scandalous contract and product policy I’ve ever seen. I kept contacting and asking to return the unopened pan set (only a day after receiving it) and no representative would do a return. The only option was to “surrender” and ruin my credit by not paying. But again I would not get my money back and I was stuck with unopened pots that I wouldn’t use.
ALSO, If you “win” a prize it’s not free. I won 4 vacations and I looked into each one. All of the “vacations” require you to pay taxes and fees and then a huge deposit, part “refundable”. But good luck getting the “refundable deposit” or even the vacation as you have to choose dates and they tell you when you can travel. To add to the manipulative behavior you can’t choose dates or even see travel locations until you pay the large deposit on the “free vacation”. You have to pay for the vacation before you can plan it.
Both of these companies the HY cite (pots and pans) and the travel company have terrible reviews, claims and poor Better Business Bureau ratings. They have multiple company and product names so it’s hard to look up reviews and information on them. BEWARE!! DON’T LET THEM TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU TOO!

I will say after reading all this stuff I was super skeptical and a couple even walked out of the mans pitch after 5 minutes claiming “we read your Yelp reviews” but the pitch was 1.5 hours he started out talking about all the limitations to the prizes aka you pay shipping on rings and champagne flutes and there are certain dates for the all inclusive trips, he also explained very well how all of this works. By mentioning the 3 companies given as prizes they also get brand recognition. The cookware pitch was amazing, the food was great, I was very impressed, although overpriced I did not feel any pressure to buy anything, I actually wish I could have afforded the stuff because I truly was impressed. I asked if we could add to registry unfortunately no. Ultimately if you have a free hour and a half to spare like my fiancé and I, make it a out of the ordinary date night, get some free food, get gifts for free you may or may not use and move on. I think everyone should at least attend. Most gifts have no expiration. Doesn’t hurt to have back up wedding bands or free champagne glasses or a trip you may or may not use. We made of night of it and really enjoyed our time and gifts. We even tried to tip our guy and he refused.

We went to one of these, not expecting much. we got free wedding bands (limited selection) free engraved wine glasses and a 3day 2 night stay of our choosing in either mexico, DE or bahamas. (travel not included) They also gave out 8 day 7 night stays to some! worth going to i think for all the free stuff we got. What they say we would get we got.

I got one of these calls today! The woman I spoke to seemed legitimate about it. I haven’t received a confirmation email yet, but it’s for this Friday. I’m a little nervous reading all the reviews. Would like to hear about the vacation and if anyone actually went on one. Also, do they serve drinks at this dinner thing? Trying to make a date night out of this lol
