Dedicated October 2020

Digital rsvp

Brittainy, on April 11, 2019 at 11:35 AM Posted in Planning 0 8
So I have some specifics for my wedding and included a FAQ on my wedding site, for the RSVP card I want to put the wedding website so everyone rsvps digitally through the website and can read the faq as my wedding is out of state literally for every single person on the list as me and my FH are the only ones in Cali and even we have to travel 6 hours to the venue, my wedding inclue under 18 guests (too many kids in the family we would end up with 300 guests if invitees brought their kids!) and is formal. So I feel it’s important that the information is seen so they can make a informed rsvp, which is why I want to have them do it digitally, Has anyone else done this?

I mailed a physical invitation and have people RSVPing via wedding website. I haven't had any issues yet with RSVPing. I prefer it, because it keeps track for me!

We did a formal invitation with RSVPs solely online.

Some people are sticklers for tradition, but I'm not - we're sending paper invites, but doing a digital RSVP. We'll have some people from out of town and/or the opposite side of the country, but the main reasons are because it's easier to track, saves money on RSVPs, and our entire guest list (minus possibly one grandmother) is tech savvy enough to figure out how to RSVP online. I think it's totally ok to do, and a great way to give out information that wouldn't fit on an invitation.

We also sent a physical invite (a few days ago) and we are making everyone do an online RSVP we also have a DW and everyone has to drive 3-6 hr also in Cali lol it was important to us they knew as many facts as possible before RSVP the people should start getting the invites in the next few days so I can keep you updated on it.

We are doing a physical invitation and online RSVP. What I’ve noticed so far (we sent our invitations a little over a month ago and have 3 weeks until our RSVP deadline) is the people my and FH’s age—low to mid 20s—are responding quickly and easily. The people closer to my mom’s age—50s-60s—are just not responding (at least not yet). Though I don’t think it’s a technology issue since my 87 year old great uncle was able to do the online RSVP and did it right away lol. I’m getting a feeling that a lot of our lack of responses are going to be a “of course I’m coming, I didn’t RSVP because you knew I would be there!” so I’m not sure if they would’ve necessarily been more inclined to respond if it were a physical RSVP...... including physical RSVP may have been more of a call-to-action though, so it’s possible that would’ve helped.

If I could do it over though I’d still just do online RSVP, especially because we (like you) also want people to look at the details on the website. Theoretically, we could’ve had the same issue if we did physical invitations because some people would be too lazy to fill out the card..... personally I think going online is way easier than mailing back a card, so idk lol. You can’t make people do it either way, but the online RSVP definitely encourages most people to go to the website.

    Good luck!

We sent out formal invitation with an online into RSVP, since nearly everyone is travel it was important to us that people see the website. It also just makes it easier to track. We did include an RSVP card but it just pointed to the website.

I had a friend who did something similar with success.

I think as long as everyone you're inviting is tech savvy enough to RSVP online, there's no issue!
