Is there a good free app that guest can download to take pictures? I'm looking for something like a digital photo book

I used The Guest app. It was fairly easy to use. It automatically uploads all pictures taken with in the time frame you specify for your event.
No need to take pictures in the app or remember to upload them. You use the camera on your device
